Why does everyone pick on this movie?

If I am guilty of anything, it's of not giving up. I am pretty much the lone man out here trying to defend this movie, and unless you all have the intention of backing down, I won't either!

Thats fine...
Good luck with that then...

If anyone likes to hear someone voice their opinion, its me. But you need to know how to pick your battles.

I know it sounds silly, defending a movie but I am afraid if I back down I will lose what little credibility I have on the forum. Jeez, this would be SO much easier if this were real life and I was defending the end zone from twenty people...

I really don't get what all the fuss is about.  As a wise man once said, "Opinions vary."

Yes they do. Problem is it seems like I have an opinion that everyone disagrees with.

BTW, I think what you are doing is borderline trolling.

Borderline?  Dude has three accounts on the forum, used to be called Rhodes Watson who did the same thing.  Probably best to ignore him

I'll clear this up right now because Conor obviously does not understand. I live in a dorm with other people, and we all share the same wireless modem, one of them happens to be RhodesWatson. I understand you think you're doing good Conor, but take a look at what you're saying, i'm trying to be reasonable here and you're trying to draw attention away from the issue at hand here and frankly I think you've got a chip on your shoulder. Even if I did have multiple accounts, that does not constitute trolling by itself.

Why does everyone pick on this movie? Well, first of all, not everyone does. Some people like the movie. That said, anyone who can look for two seconds beyond a) it has robots and they fight!, and b) it has explosions!, and actually apply some logical critique of individual aspects of the film will see just how many problems this movie has, and thus deserves to be riffed.

Also, trying to tell people who love to make fun of movies, on a forum dedicated to a product with an entire purpose of making fun of movies, is a battle lost before it even begins.

I appreciate the advice, but when it's all focused on just one movie and all other movies are ignored and pushed to the wayside... it has to stop.

Sorry.  I meant to address that to him.  Fixed now.

I love this movie, its one of my favorites.  I've been a Transformers fan forever, and this movie is awesome.  I bought this track, and am listening to it now.  There are some tons of hilarious jokes but it does get picked on way too much.  It may not be a perfect movie, but it's certainly not a bad one..  Not even close.  So, you're not alone.  I love Mike and the guys and as a Transformer fan, this track is funny.  I can't deny that.  But I can't help but wince when they rip into the movie because I do have a special place in my heart for it.

Why this and not spiderman 3???

Do you know what trolling is? That's when someone keeps saying the same thing ad nauseum. If I am guilty of anything, it's of not giving up. I am pretty much the lone man out here trying to defend this movie, and unless you all have the intention of backing down, I won't either!

1.  You're not the only one defending this movie, I've stated more than once in other threads that I enjoyed it.  I just don't let it get my angry that there are a lot of people here that disagree and I know I'm not going to change it.

2.  You are trolling by your own definition.

Give it time, they only recently did the first Spiderman.  They'll likely build up to it.

The robots don't sound the same, and the figures certainly aren't overpriced.  Trust me, I have hundreds.  And they want to shoot Mike for buying a Transformer, but he says he bought a Beast Wars figure so it was ok?  They realize Beast Wars WAS Transformers, right?  And how can they say Optimus and Megatron look alike?

Just Some Guy

I'm going to go with the fact that the movie is a complete example of how to be an incompetent editor and director.  Let me use the obvious example: the scene where the autobots are hiding in the backyard.  They knock out the electricity to the block.  It's a plot point.  It causes Sam's parents to come upstairs and have a "comical" conversation.  Except when they cut outside the power is on at the house.  This is while they're playing dialog that says the power is out!  It switches back and forth with interior shots having the lights out and exterior have the lights on.

This is completely and utterly incompetent and it's the tip of the iceberg in Transformers.  I can't go more than thirty seconds when watching this movie without noticing a basic error that anyone who understands the basics of film making could have easily avoided.  Contradictory dialog, characters shifting position when they're off screen,  CGI effects that don't line up, Bay's general assumption that if he just throws in enough jump cuts then the action sequences will have to work it all; I could literally go on for weeks walking through the movie minute by minute pointing out just how awful Transformers is.
