That said, Superman Returns rocks simply because Spacey > Hackman.

I must disagree with you whole heartedly on this

Hackman >Spacey

I think the difference was Spacey was acting.  Hackman was trying to be a Batman TV show villain version of Luthor.  Normally I like Hackman, and this could have been a script issue (Just like I like Adam West, and acknowledge that he did a good job for what he was asked to do) but allow me to clarify my thoughts.

Hackman and Spacey, both good actors

Hackman >Spacey

I agree with you for the most part Sideswipe except

Spacey's Wardrobe >Hackman's Wardrobe

The only thing I got from Superman Returns was a desire to find out the name of Lex's tailor :D

Phantom of Krankor

I never really liked any of the Superman movies to be honest. Not even the original. Superman Returns bored the living hell out of me. And honestly, what was Bryan Singer thinking when he hired Kate Bosworth?! Talk about miscasting...

Anyways, the LOTR sequals were just simply amazing on how amazing they kept getting. I also liked the POTC sequals.

Especially me he had Parker Posey right there on set!!!!!

Sideswipe

Superman Returns was cool only becuase they have the technology to make it look cool now.  To bad the story completely sucked and it was an anticlimactic as hell.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

RoninFox

As much as I enjoyed Superman Returns, I think Superman Doomsday would have been better than it if only there'd been a couple changes in the voice cast.

Batman Returns was equally as good as Batman. Batman Begins is also good, but wouldn't be a sequel.

I know I speak against the fan grain, but the only, and I mean ONLY theatrical Batman movie that has stood the test of time for me is Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Batman was horrible (though, like everyone else, I loved it when it first came out, and all the way up into my teens). Batman Returns is better as an actual movie, less as an adaptation. It's got The Walken, and Michelle Pheifer back when she was hot wearing a skin-tight leather suit as well. As for the new Batman... I really dislike it. Not that I didn't see it twice in theaters and once on video. Great director, one decent writer, and a good, yet slightly askew cast. Oh yes, and Katie Holmes, who I can't freaking stand.

*ahem* sorry.

EDIT: How could I forget the greatest sequel of them all? Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Great sequels:
Aliens
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Godfather 2
Spider-Man 2
Superman 2 (still a crappy movie, but fun)
Superman Returns (fuck haters)
X2
TMNT (an unofficial sequel to the other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies)
Mighty Joe Young
Godzilla vs Mothra (Godzilla vs The Thing)
Godzilla vs Gigan
Godzilla vs Monster Zero
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla
Terror of Mechagodzilla
Godzilla 1985
Godzilla vs Biollante
Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (Heisi series)
Godzilla vs Mothra: Battle for the Earth
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II
Godzilla vs Destroyah
GMK
Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan

Good sequels:
Fly II
Predator 2
Godzilla Final Wars
Ghost in the Shell: Innosence

Ehhhh... more later, I guess.

What was Mighty Joe Young a sequel too?

TMNT (an unofficial sequel to the other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies)

Love that movie.  If you notice, it's actually kind of a universal sequel.  There's at least one reference in it to each of the previous incarnations of the Turtles.  If you look at the canister on the trophy wall, there's even a crack strategically places to obscure whether it reads "TCRI" or "TGRI" as both of them were used in different versions of the continuity.  </megageek>

How the hell did I forget all the Godzilla movies.

It wasn't a direct sequel, more of a "sequel in spirit" to King Kong, what with everyone from the first two Kong movies working on it.

Phantom of Krankor

I liked Batman Begins, but I agree, Katie Holmes was terrible. Its amazing that the director wanted her to be in the movie so badly. Not only did I hate Katie Holmes, but I hated the Racheal Dawes character, and its really dissapointing to me that they're bringing her back for the next movie only to be played by Maggie Gyllanhall ( why bring her back played by somebody else?! Just give Batman and new GF!!!! ).

Didn't Wayne and Dawes break up at the end of BB anyway? It would make perfect sense to bring in a new character.

RoninFox

I don't care if the Dawes character comes back at all, and I'd be all for Wayne getting a new girl...as long as we don't have to see her figure out who Bruce really is again.  This had happened every single time in the Batman films since 89 with the exception of Batman and Robin (and really, who cares about that one until it's Riffed).  Vicki Vale, well Alfred lets her into the friggin Batcave.  Selena Kyle, figures it out at the party when they end up quoting eachother.  Dr. Meridian (Not a great doctor, not bad either, kind of a middle doctor) had it revealed by a combination of psychoanalysis and the fact that the bad guys kidnapped her.  Even Mask of the Phantasm, which I agree was an incredible film, had Andi figure it out.  Then Lois Lane figures it out in the Batman/Superman movie.

Every now and then it's nice for a man with a secret identity to keep a damn secret.
