'Battlestar Galactica: Razor' to Hit Theaters Before TV Premiere

QuoteBattlestar Galactica is coming back in style.  The cult sci-fi favorite won't return with its fourth and final season until the start of the second quarter of next year, but its special two-hour movie will hit both the big and small screens come November.

Yes, Battlestar Galactica: Razor will open in theaters in select cities nationwide.  The cinematic release will take place more than a week prior to the television premiere of the said film.

I got my place reserved in the 9 pm showing at the Cinemark Legacy in Plano, TX, November 12!

Every single showing in California has already been filled. I can't even get into a screening the next town over, dang it. I have a feeling that quite a few people who registered aren't going to make it, though. So there's a chance that they may allow a few people in to the theater right before showtime.

It's tempting, but i'd rather just wait another week and watch it on TV... as opposed to waiting around outside a theater in the hopes of maybe, possibly getting in. Besides, when an entire theater is absolutely filled to capacity i get kinda' claustrophobic and freak out a little bit.

Anyway, congrats on getting in to a showing! Have fun...

It's pretty cool that this is getting a theater run, but I have to wait for season 3 to hit DVD before I can watch Razor.  Awesome show though.

I read a reivew of Razor the other day, and it was very positive.  I'd love to see this play somewhere over here, but I know that's never gonna happen...

You could always download it and play it on a projector screen with lots of hot, buttery popcorn to simulate the experience. :)

For maximum authenticity, chew a bunch of gum and stick it to your chairs, then pour some soda on the floor and leave it overnight to dry. ;)

It's actually a Bob Dylan reference.

It turns out Bob Dylan is one of the final 5 cylons.

So this finally aired on television, and it was just... meh. I still feel like we're getting short-changed by getting this "movie" rather than a complete season. I couldn't really care less about the Pegasus. I got my fill when the original episodes aired. It seriously feels like the writers are just treading water as they decided how to bail themselves out of last season's finale.

Obviously i wanted, and was expecting, more. So i'm being a little harsh. But Razor didn't rise above any of the regular two-part episodes from the previous season. Maybe if it had actually been part of a season, i wouldn't judge it so harshly. But taking an entire year to film what's basically an average two-part episode? Lame.

There were a few Cylon fanboy moments in there. Not to mention some oddly forced relationships. I could tell that we were being set-up for a prequel series. And the entire story was constantly jumping back and forth in time. But nothing very significant was revealed, and it didn't seem to move the story forward. Instead we just sort of hung around in the BSG universe. Kind of pointless, really.

It was nice to see some new BSG, but this wasn't worth the wait.

I sense a disturbance in the Force (spoiler):

(end spoiler)

I suspect we're gonna get an incredibly F***ed up ending to this series. Well, more than we originally expected anyway.

Overhyped, but then again, what Sci-Fi movie isn't?

The story was sort of lame, and the characters Shaw and Admiral Cain were very forgettable, despite how hard the movie tried to keep them at the center of attention.

I don't know; I can't say I really like the new Battlestar.  The drama just feels so forced that it fails to make an impact on me, and the characters aren't very likeable, with the exception of the new Admiral Adama, and that's because Edward James Olmos is a badass.

I'm kind of perturbed annoyed perplexed why they would release BSG: Razor on DVD before season 3...

I gotta catch up on season 3 before I watch this, right?
