The guys walking around with their mouths and eyes sewn shut so the evil black alien liquid couldn't possess them? I mean WTF was that? Can anyone explain that?

That always bugged me. Especially since the kid in the first movie got taken over by the black oil through his feet (sneakers and all).

 Kissy Kissy :-* :-*

Blurry Kiss

QuoteWith so much secrecy around the upcoming "X-Files" sequel, we have to depend on spies to get the much-craved information about the movie. Thanks to FlynetOnline, we now have pictures of the two stars, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, filming a scene in Vancouver which required them to lock lips. And while we have already seen Mulder and Scully smooch a bit on the show, could the film take their relationship to a new level?

At this point, there is still no official plot summary for "X-Files 2," but Fox has stressed that the pic is a stand-alone story and supernatural thriller that takes the complicated relationship between Mulder and Scully in new directions. Could that direction be a romantic one?

I've had some blurry kisses in my day. Blurry, sloppy kisses.

We have fun don't we, you and I?

It's over
QuoteThe cast and crew of the still-untitled "X-Files" sequel wrapped up work in Vancouver with a news conference Wednesday, a brief lifting of a curtain of secrecy that the production has maintained through three months of filming.

"We've had lots of paparazzi," writer-director Chris Carter told the National Post. "In Langley a couple of days ago a black SUV pulled up on the side of the road and there was a long lens pointed at us."

The next day, pictures of Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), locked in a full-on kiss appeared on internet fansites. "We staged that," said Duchovny.

The movie is a stand-alone story unconnected to the series' ongoing conspiracy thread, but beyond that they're not saying much. "We're not doing an exercise in nostalgia to appeal to the fans of the show," said co-writer and producer Frank Spotnitz. "We saw this as an opportunity to introduce the characters to people who may have been too young. It has a reason for being, even if there'd never been a television show before."

The new story picks up with the main characters in real time, six years after the events of the series.

Nothing says "young audience" like two middle-aged loser shut-ins who obsess over incredibly stupid unbelievable crap with straight faces all the while showing no sex drive even though one of them has a stack of porn in his bedroom the size of Mount Rushmore. "It's like watching a movie about your uncle, except he works for the FBI instead of gold-farming in World of Warcraft!" YIPPEE!

QuoteSci Fi Wire attended a panel in Hollywood, where Chris Carter, who co-wrote and directed the upcoming "X-Files" sequel, revealed a few spoilers about the movie.

Carter told fans that they will learn a bit about what happened to William, the baby of Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson), who was given up for adoption in the show's ninth and final season. "It will not go unconsidered in the movie," he said.

Carter also revealed why the sequel still does not have a title. "I can't tell you [what it is]," Carter said in response to a question. "Because I don't know, really. I know what I want it to be, but Fox has ideas of their own. And I know what it should be."

Spotnitz said that the movie will pick up the story of Mulder and Scully six years after the events in the show's finale, which aired in 2002. "In the movie, we wanted it to work for non-fans as well as fans," partner Frank Spotnitz said. "But we were determined for the fans to honor all the work that these guys did on the series and all the love that people had for the show over the years. And so I think you'll see that, while this is not a mythology movie, it's true to everything that's come before. It's true to Mulder and Scully, who they are, where they would be at this point in their lives and all of the experiences that they've had."

20th Century Fox spokesman also revealed that the trailer for the movie will appear in front of "Iron Man" on May 2nd. It will become available online soon after.

and for really no reason whatsoever

MILLENNIUM: THE MOVIE
Quote"X-Files" creator Chris Carter spoke at the William S Paley Television Festival in Hollywood, where he revealed that he has mulled a movie based on his TV series, "Millennium," which starred Lance Henriksen. [via Sci Fi Wire]

"We've talked about that over the years," he said. "Lance would love to do it. I don't know if it would ever get done. It's a long shot. It would be fun. I have ideas about how to do it."

The show revolved around a former FBI profiler, who moves his family from Washington DC to Seattle, where he joins the Millenium Group, a mysterious organization of former law enforcement officers, committed to battling a crime wave which grows as the turn of the millennium approaches.

"Millennium" ran from 1996-1999 and was nominated for three Golden Globes.

I don't hold out much hope for a Millenium movie. It would be lovely if it happened, but of Carter's creations, nothing can ever top the giant that is X-Files and it sounds like he knows it. It's a shame, since Millenium was actually a pretty good show and went into dark, gritty places X-Files wouldn't touch. I loved the Millenium/X-Files crossover ep, too. Lance Henriksen kicks the ass.

Love Henriksen.  But the millenium came and went - in fact, it happened on an episode of "The X-Files" - and the world didn't come to an end.

Take that away and the show was "The Serial Killer of the Week".  Aren't there enough Serial Killer movies already?

I mean, I'm sure he's ticked off that he has to wait for "Lost" to wrap up so that Terry O'Quinn is free and he can sell Fox on a "Harsh Realm" movie....

But, can't Carter come up with something original to do with Henriksen?

bratpop

Somebody stop Chris Carter before he kills again. What if he tries to do a Harsh Realm movie next? He must be stopped.

It was good until Morgan and Wong came on board and ruined it. The threw away an entire season of build up about the guy stalking Frank (Tooms!) in one episode and then brought Charles Neslon Riley on board for another Jose Chung!

Darin Morgan episodes are the best.  A good rest from all the conspiracy crap.

I've always enjoyed the non-conspiracy stuff better. Especially in the later seasons...it just got to be too much then.
It wasn't too bad at first, but it just kept dragging on and on.
