You know, I blame The X-Files for movies like The Hills Have Eyes, because they had that mutant inbred redneck family before any movies did. If the new movie is like that, I will shun it. Oh yes, I'll shun it. Hard.

How could the X-Files cause a movie released 20 years before its time?

Well clearly this movie(and everything else with the X-Files name on it)isn't aimed at you,so don't go see it.
That's ridiculous. I watched and enjoyed the X-Files until after the lame movie came out and the aliens turned into greys for no reason while underwater, and stopped watching around the time Doggett showed up. Releasing an X-Files movie in this decade isn't aimed at anyone. It's just following in the footsteps of Battlestar Galactica and other comebacks except because the original actors have never had careers, they can reprise their roles. Why is it that only George Lucas is ever accused of being greedy when he exploits his own creation? The X-Files was fine when it was good, but it failed twice. Why should they get a third chance? People don't get third chances.

Well for one the aliens had always been greys. Secondly, I agree with you about the Dogget years. I didn't like the show as much without Mulder. Still I think this movie still has a good chance of being a surprise hit.

Yeah I meant the remake, you know. The original was hardly mutants. Just that guy from Midnight Oil. He's only half-mutant.

Okay, I don't know what that means. The movie and followup episodes showed that these Alien ripoffs burst out of people's chests and were really big and mean and then they'd go take a jacuzzi somewhere and turn into harmless, short, greys without pointy teeth. I still don't get it, but The X-Files was the Lost of its time. Made Twin Peaks seem downright sensible.

Obviously a movie that sounds terrible has a very good chance of being a "surprise" hit. That's the only kind of hit it could be! I certainly wouldn't be surprised if a good idea was a hit!

I am looking forward to this movie, and plan on seeing it. I enjoyed the X-files heartily until they moved the production to california and then Duchovny left. Whether or not the film does jack in the market means less than nothing to me. I thought the first movie was fine. It was a bigger budget, longer episode.

Were are you getting the information from that makes you so sure that its going to be a terrible movie? Last I heard it was going to be like a stand-alone episode, those monster of the week ones, and those were always my favorite episodes.

I too am looking forward to it and will see it regardless.

I think the idea that making it in this generation is bad idea, is a bunch of b.s.
There are still lots of X-Files fans "out there". We've aged a couple years, but we haven't gone anywhere.
I think it will do well.

I'm still buying season box sets. ;D My ass will be planted in a theater seat the day X-files comes out.

Doctor Who?

Yeah i still have a few Boxsets to pick up too.

But i loved the last movie and i catch it when it is on Sci-Fi so I will be there the first weekend.

This and The Dark Knight are the two movies I am looking forward to most this year.

Tripe

Nah, it'll be Supercriminal and Nemesis instead ;D

No, new directions. They're going to open a KFC together.

Doctor Who?

And it will be directed by Kevin Smith.

It's going to be a Clerks like comedy.

I tell you one thing--it'd better open with the Lone Gunmen revealing their "death" hoax.
