Don't use the Image DVD

This isn't new info, I just want to confirm that the Image DVD release of Missile to the Moon (which I believe is the one available from NetFlix) does not match the RiffTrax. Go with the Legend release. Sorry if this has already been officially confirmed and I missed it.

I already own the Image version, and I actually took the time to edit the RiffTrax to make it fit. But it was too much work to recommend that method to anyone. (I just didn't want to buy the same crappy movie twice.)

Well its not like people weren't warned from the get go (like as soon as the 40 questions were finished).

It's nice to have it confirmed though.  Thanks JoshWay.

Yeah, I had already moved it up to #1 in my queue when the post came out about other versions not lining up..
That happened with Plan 9 and another old one as well and it was Definitely not worth the hassle to 'make' it fit.
So I took the advise and bought the one from Legend Film & Lo and Behold, I get an autographed one!  :highfive:

Hey I'm having trouble reauthoring it with ReJig. When it's ready for reauthor, the video file is like 3.3 gigs, the audio is 100 something megs but when I put them in, it comes out as DVD files and they're only 508 kbs. Any ideas at what I'm doing wrong? This hasn't happened to me with any of the other rifftrax before.

So is it different scene lengths, scenes missing, added? I am very curious about the differences.

It's really just a second here and a second there. Most of the time the riff is behind, but once or twice it gets ahead. I can't compare it with the Legend DVD, but I'd guess that they might have extended some shots when they did their restoration, or maybe Image used a bad print with some timing problems. But it didn't seem like any whole scenes were missing or added.

Again, it was pretty easy to fix, just time consuming because I had to comb the entire soundtrack to make sure sync was maintained.

Yeah, my Pinnacle software lined up everything Perfectly!
I had to increase the volume from the dvd to +10 so I could hear it better, and turn down the volume on the Rifftrax to -5 so it wasn't drowning out the volume on the movie too bad..

Are you saying that Pinnacle synced the RiffTrax with the Image DVD?

It synched Perfect with the Legend Film version I purchased..
I didn't try it with the version from Netflix (didn't really want to go through the hassle of 'making' it work)

So, in other words, 99% of the people that buy rifftrax and watch the DVD on a DVD player, and listen to the mp3 on another machine, will more or less not experience any real problems?

Editted to add...it's not like Daredevil or The Grudge or XXX.
