I imagine remastering the video would take away from it somewhat....  like remastering the movies before putting them on MST3K

I don't know if I've missed this in a previous post, but any word on the actual concept of the show? I know they're riffing bad movies again but is there a reason? Are they playing themselves or characters? The set seems to indicate characters, otherwise, what's the point of it being so elaborate?

The scaffolding, name, and props I've seen all point towards a ship-themed venture.  Like they're on the deck of a massive cruise ship viewing these movies.

Is the ship called the "Cruise Liner of Love", by any chance? :)

It should be at the event horizon of a Black Hole where it will take all eternity to crush them.
On timeout

As long as we don't have to view the cast in swimwear. I love 'em all, but not for their bodies. :^)

That is total awesomeness.

People who think it looks like a mess have never seen how a working set looks. This is gonna be cool, I can see them moving around between parts of the scaffold, people coming and going, all sorts of possibilities.

Bummer about the delay, but delays happen. I've been waiting for the latest racing simulator which has been delayed for over a year now, but that's a licensing issue. Seems to me the CT guys just want to make the project even cooler. I can live with that  8)

Besides, we'll have the Star Wars Holiday Rifftrax to look forward to on the 10th.

Thanks for setting them straight.

This was the most professional shoot I've worked on, with an amazing crew and no expense spared. I'm working with the script, and it is truly, coming from a lifelong MST fan, fantastic. Unbelievably great riffs, great acting, great energy. We're very excited about it, and I think it'll all turn out very well. The fans should dig it.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what the DVD will look like, just imagine the movie on the green part. "Hey, look at the wacky stuff going on behind all this crap!" "Yeah, uh... dickweed!"

Well I'd imagine that the scaffolding would actually be the extreme left and right of the screen so zoom in to the edges of the scaffolding are right on the sides.  Also this picture was obviously taken from behind the main camera a ladder and several other pieces of equipment.  Imagine all that stuff out of the way and I think this is going to work pretty well.

Again...

Are you being sarcastic or cynical?

Is it hard to imagine that I could actually be serious, making observations based on what I already know about the project, and looking forward to seeing this?  Look carefully at that picture, it's not a screen cap, it has all the equipment in shot, equipment that will not be visible on the dvd.  Also the shadow figure in the middle on the bottom isn't one of the riffers, there are only five riffers and that guy would make six people.  That's a crew member or director or something, so that part of the screen will likely be unobstructed movie.

There's a lot of sarcasm and cynicism on this board, but not in this post.

The crew was about 20 strong.

Kay. How about a hint instead of vaguely condescending negations?

Take a look at the Cinematic Titanic site, at the picture of Trace ... and take a look back in this thread for pictures of Mary Jo with similar tubes... the theme kind of lies in there.

Ok I missed the picture of MJ with some tubes? Not the photo from from Wired?

I would guess that that CT is set in the future hence the time tube and are being forced to study forgotten cinema for some reason or another.

I think they are putting the riffed DVDs in the time tube for the future to see...

Ahhh I did not see that. Ok well I was wrong. So I guess it is set in the not so distant future since well the present already happened.

but yikes at spending $5,000 for this addiction....... here's to hoping for an eventual TV deal (or white listing after a year or so)
