Even if you hated 300, please admit that it doesn't deserve this.

QuoteFrom the slaphappy minds behind Scary Movie, Date Movie, and Epic Movie, comes another spoof comedy. This time, the laugh's on Spartan soldiers as the likes of Kevin Sorbo and Carmen Electra skewer Zack Snyder's 300.

If that sounds good to you, you're in luck; we've got the trailer premiere of the Meet the Spartans trailer right here! The 20th Century Fox release is written and directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the filmmaking duo that brought audiences to the box office and critics to their knees with their sendups of films like the James Bond franchise, Scream, The Sixth Sense, Hitch, Meet the Parents, Pirates of the Caribbean, Superman Returns, and more.

Meet the Spartans mixes 300 with films like Stomp the Yard and also features its share of celebrity bashing scenarios, targeting media figures like George W. Bush, Lindsay Lohan, American Idol's Sanjaya and Ryan Seacrest, and Star magazine-crossed lovers K-Fed and Britney Spears.

I'm not usually one for hyperbole, but

KILL THE C UNTS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS RIGHT NOW

According to RT it's brought to us by the same pair of writers as Epic Movie and the like - so that means we'll need two posses..

I didn't think 300 was as bad as many people make out - but I'd do anything to stop people making more movies like this.

I agree with the LA Times reviewer when Epic Movie came out: "This is so unfunny that it's a threat to comedy itself. It's bad enough that it threatens the very concept of humour as a tool for human interaction."

It's not about what the movies deserve.  It's about what the audience deserves.  And no audience - EVER - deserves this.

I actually want to cry over this news (note to Friedberg and Seltzer: tears of anger and frustration are generally not considered intended effects of comedy).

I think the first step is to camp out at any theater showing this and attack anyone trying to buy a ticket.  Once ticket prices drop, maybe they'll finally stop making these pieces of crap.  Someone really needs to let people know that it takes more to make a good parody than dressing up in cheap versions of the costumes and saying "look at me I'm acting stupid!  Lalalala!"

If I thought for a moment that a talented funny writer were making this movie, I'd buy a ticket.  I enjoyed 300, but there's parody potential galore, which is why it made a great rifftrax.  I saw the first Scary Movie and was disappointed to find that anything funny was already in the trailer.  The sequels, I didn't even see anything funny in the trailers, same with Date Movie and Epic Movie.  They just seem like  bad blown out of proportion SNL sketches that go nowhere.

Heh sounds like those old food riots in New York City, basically a bunch of elderly jewish immigrants were mad at the price of food so they attacked anyone who had the nerve to buy food from any  grocer in their village. The times have changed but I think the principle is the same.

Can't wait for it.

I mean, I can't wait to force our little booth assistant into watching it repeatedly.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

Chaos

I think RoninFox is right!

We should all pull a Dane Cook, hang out around movie theaters for the first 2-3 weeks of the opening, and stab the face of anyone who tries to ask for a ticket  to this movie (hence, stopping them before they hand over the money). You'll be able to tell who we are because we'll be the ones stabbing faces.

Then, once all the stabbing is done, we head over to the snack bar to buy all their watermelon Jolly Ranchers!

I think I'd want to wash all the blood and eye-jelly off of my body first.  Stabbing is a mucky business.

Why not just go to the top of a clock-tower with a sniper rifle.  No blood on your new shirt; problem solved.

RoninFox

Can't speak for your local theater, but the clock tower is just a bad position.  Too many trees in the way.  I like a direct approach anyway, preferably looking each victim in the eye and telling them calmly exactly why they are about to die.

Just have your accomplice standing outside the theater explaining what will happen to each individual if they buy a ticket.  When your buddy takes his hat off, that is your signal to take the head shot.

An interesting plan, plus it gives some people a chance for redemption.  If your friend in the field explains why the movie will be horrible, and the mark just walks away or buys a ticket to another movie, you can let him live.
