Worst James Bond movie?

Bourne movies didn't change the genre. Bourne wasn't even a spy. He was an amnesiac assassin trying to figure out who he was and get justice for whatever it was that happened whenever it did.

There's no reason some competant person can't come along and change the spy genre by simply making a good spy movie. It's not as if there's been one in a very long time. Instead of just making a good Bond movie with modern techniques, they tried to change the old formula well after it was no longer in use. As if Batman Begins was based entirely on not using neon or puns.

I agree.  I'm not interested in watching a two hour joke.  No joke is funny for two hours

Thought Adam Sandler based his whole career on that?   ;)

How can "no joke" be funny for two hours?

Speaking of which, I'm surprised that You Only Live Twice isn't doing better in this poll.

Besides the underlying inference that only a white guy can handle important problems in the world....

The whole "transformation" part and the stuff about the marriage feels like it goes on f-o-r-e-v-e-r....

Donald Pleasence is great (he inspired Dr. Evil, after all) but he can't save the whole movie.

I think Tou Only Live Twice works quite well, if you pardon the outdated ethnocentrism and chauvinism. (Which you pretty much have to put up with in nearly ever Bond movie.)

Yeah, for a long time YOLT was my favorite Bond. Fun, good action scenes, great song, iconic villain, nice pacing.

Plus Sean Connery painted yellow is always good for a larf.

You do "mean-mouthed arseknocker" better than you do "clever".

Consider that a hint.

Relax, buddy. I was making a pun about your sentence, not about your mom. If your sentence wants to call me a doody-headed alternative lifestylist, that's your sentence's decision. But let your hypertext fend for itself. We don't want other markup languages to think it's a pussy, do we?

Oh I agree that your post here was a harmless attempt at humor.  But your RT web persona is that of an unremitting bastard and perhaps my weariness with that spilled over here.  Sowing, reaping, etc.

I'm a bastard if you are a motion picture that sucks, but then so is Rifftrax. The way some people talk, you'd think I was mean or even a knocker of arses. I challenge the existence of that evidence, sir. When am I ever mean to an actual person?

To resurrect this poll, I say it's Die Another Day.  The dude with the diamonds in his face, the Korean dude changing into a British dude, the invisible car, and Mr. Kill I can deal with.  It's Halle Berry that really drags the movie down.  I still don't get the appeal of her.  Maybe I just haven't seen the movies where she's really good and gives a really believable, muli-layered performance, but I kinda doubt that's the case.

I'm just so glad that they didn't do her spin-off movie.

I never saw Die Another Day but... an invisible car? My grandfather had a saying: If you
drive an invisible car, you're only asking for trouble.

Johnny Unusual

Did anyone mention Operation Double 007?  Or the 60's Casino Royale?

Have you seen Moonraker?  Or Diamonds are Forever?

Those were goofy, to be sure, but they had their good points.  But anything even potentially good in Die Another Day is outweighed by Halle Berry.
