Hello there, I'm new to Rifftrax.

I am also a huge Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan.  Huge as in I am ten feet tall and five-hundred pounds of muscle.

I have every single episode of MST on dvd thanks to good ole' Ebay, and I usually manage to either watch or listen to an episode every day of the week.

I'm a 2d/3d animation student and I live in the Seattle area of Washington State.  Nice to meet you all, I hope to enjoy many typed conversations consisting of glorious MST quotes and memories.

Rifftrax!

It wasn't until this site that I first realized there were others like me.  Nice to meet you.  I am a postmaster in a small town in Northern California, so we "mysties" come from all walks of life.

I can entirely understand why.

I chose the name knowing that there would be others.  How could I resist.  I'm Rowsdower............

It was basically the first MST associated name that popped up in my small brain.

I still haven't had a chance to actually purchase and enjoy a rifftrax yet.  I don't have any of the dvds that Rifftrax has released, so I was thinking about picking up some of the more interesting films out there.  Over the top sounds like it has potential to be hilarious.

What would you riffers suggest that a HUGE mst fan like myself start up with on Rifftrax?  I was thinking about at first purchasing all of the Mike, Kevin and Bill commentaries.  I dunno.  I'm just excited to be here.  I have been enjoying the Film Crew releases.

Greetings and Salutations New-Member Type Personage, feel free to walk quietly among other members of these forums, but know their power for they are your rivals. Quietly crush them as you work diligently through the night.  Pay attention to the Platypus behind the curtain, for he is your ally.  Drink deeply and lustfully from the foamy draught of Evil that is Tarantulas... Here take these items and use them to aid you in your toils... *Gives Zapp_Rowsdower a Smoking Jacket (with several packets of designer smoke), a Mexican Jumping Bean-Bag Chair , and a tin of freshly made Artificial Demon Dog Cookies, made with only the finest Genuine Artificial Demon Dogs* ...and Uh, do it to the other guy before he does it to you, and be bad to the bone.  Won't you?  Thank you...

If you are looking for an similar quality in movies found in MST3k you have to go with Troll 2 first.  All of the other movies at least had budgets.

Probably for that reason alone, Troll 2, unlike most of the rest of the RiffTax'd movies will never be associated with the phrase 'good money after bad' :rimshot:

Over the Top is fantastic, as is Eragon.  Either one of those would be a great starting place for a new fan.  The ones with Mike alone might take some getting used to when your accustomed to MST3K (and you'll find a new thread here every now and then just griping about them) but I think they're hilarious.

Very good.  I shall attempt to locate a copy of Troll 2.  I hope Rifftrax does more bad 80's and early 90's movies.  Some of my favorite MST episodes are those decades (Soultaker, Zombie Nightmare, Time Chasers, Robot Holocaust, Space Mutiny, Pod People, etc.)

I had a mini MST marathon last night while I did my homework in honor of joining the Rifftrax boards.  I managed to get my way through the first five eps of season two.  It was glorious!
