Doctor Who?

Didn't the white girl tell him how to do most of the stuff?

The parts with black actors felt like they were only one of two steps away from birth of a nation.

Doctor Who?

So the Nazi were not racist because they were not Americans?

Bay's mind works in strange ways.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who noticed the blatant stereotyping in Transformers.  At times I found really it uncomfortable to watch.  Then again, that last statement applies to pretty much every other part of the movie.
'No one does it to you like Roman Polanski' - The Tenant

Doctor Who?

Those parts of transformers are the only parts of any movie that have ever made me squirm in my chair at a movie theater.

I felt ill and ashamed to be white.

The black actors who played those roles must be owned by the studio or something.

It was really racist.

transformers is one movie i wouldn't own on Dvd if someone else hadn't gotten it for me for Christmas and if there wasn't a rifftrack I wouldn't of kept it.

Nick

Killing me won't bring back your Goddamned honey!

Doctor Who?

Wow that's quite a list.

just wow.

One thing racist stereotypes have changed so much since the 40s I didn't know the crows in Dumbo were supposed to be black.

But wow that mickey book is the most racist thing not made by Hitler.

Oh I think it's been proven conclusively that Hitler and Walt were so bff.  I think it's safe to assume he had some input.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Doctor Who?

Don't worry Imrahil i was just playing along.

I think the only reason Walt made any anti-Htler stuff was because once we went to war with Hitler he knew if he didn't it was be the end of Disney.

That was quite a scary list.

It looks like he's doing yoga.

I don't care what Megatron transforms into, anyway. There are just a few things that Bay can do to pass 2 into the realm of "not embarrassing to watch:"
1- More focus on robots interacting. Less on the humans. Just transfer some of those annoying human personalities onto giant robots, and you've already improved things.
2- No "comedy relief." Intigrate humor into the situation. DON'T JUST HAVE A BLACK PERSON SHRIEK FOR FIVE MINUTES AND CALL IT COMEDY.
3- Cool it with all the "effect." CGI and explosions are fine, but stop with the sunsets and shakeycam. You're characters are all grey, metallic, and made of lots of tiny pieces- it's already hard to keep track of.
4- Don't chicken out on things "people just won't buy." They bought the ticket, they'll obviously buy anything.
5- Subtlety.

Besides that, one other thing to note: Sam should be a little cooler in this film. Not because I want Shia to have a better part, but because assumably by the events of this film, he'll know alot about the war, the players involved, and what's at stake. Plus, by this point, he's already faced Megatron swinging a SUV sized mace at him, so he should be somewhat hardened. He needs to be cooler because it wouldn't make sense for him not to be.

If he has any two of these things in mind as he makes the film, I won't regret the ticket purchase.

.... I'm gonna lose 7 bucks. :'(

Sam should be cooler in the sequel not because he faced Megatron, or knows about the war, but because he finally got laid..by Megan Fox no less!

I can say rat droppings, it does not mean I want to eat them - Chun

Sideswipe

So it seems that Sideswipe will be in the new movie.  As the new silver Corvette Centennial concept car.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Should have made him the original Pinto.  They're not safe at any speed.   :rimshot:

All of Bay's films are racist, due in part to his aformentioned ideas about comedy, and partly because he always has to kill a black person, even if it's just a black robot who talks in ebonics.

Even when he doesn't kill the black guy, he has to make a big deal out of it.  When he hired Michael Clarke Duncan for Armegeddon, he told him that he would be the first black man in the history of Sci-Fi to live through the entire movie.  Damn, Bay is a wretched human being.

I was actually wondering about that. He compensated by vaporizing a Samoan, however. WHILE someone called him a "Pineapple eater."

AND by having all black people in the film act like shrieking crazies.

AAAANNNDD by playing the "Japanese Tourists Are So Funny" card not just once, but TWICE IN THE SAME MOTHERFUCKING MOVIE. TWO DIFFERENT SCENES, SAME RACIST JOKE.

... sigh.

I want to know something, and I'm not saying I am in Michael Bay's corner or anything, but why is everyone making a big deal out of something that for all we know, may or may not be true? I watched the first Transformers myself and I thought even for all its flaws, its not racist. In fact, I would suggest the fact that a "black" robot died makes it actually even less racist because Jazz actually sacrificed his life fighting the main baddie. Even for a robot, that takes balls. I would say questioning his sacrifice... is racist(That's what a close black friend of mine told me anyway).

Has anyone even considered that none of the black actors/actresses have told anyone they think their roles in Bay films are indicative of racism? Or that Bay has no problem getting African Americans to be in his movies and has never been blacklisted in Hollywood as a racist? Please. He puts non-black characters in as many precarious, stereotypical and humorous situations as black ones. I think because they just happen to be black makes us notice it more.

We've been hit over the head with racial accusations (both deserved and not deserved) over the years so often now that I think anyone who isn't a minority  is more paranoid about racism in movies than the actual minorities are.
