QuoteOn the Don Murphy message board, writer Roberto Orci answered a question about how many robots we are to expect in the upcoming "Transformers" sequel.

"I'd love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting," he revealed. If there are ten on each side, that would mean that we might see twenty different robots on the big screen.

We're still over a year away from seeing the film in theaters (June 26th, 2009), so stay tuned for the latest updates.

QuoteMTV News reports that Matthew Marsden (Rambo, Resident Evil: Extinction) has been cast in the upcoming "Transformers" sequel. He joins Rainn Wilson and a returning cast comprised of Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese.

Marsden has been cast in the role of "Graham," a character who is part of the British Special Forces. Although the film's plot is being kept under the tightest veils of secrecy, it is known that the flick will depict an even more worldly battle than the first "Transformers" film, and will shoot all over the globe.

In the sequel, Graham teams with Duhamel and Tyrese's military characters, joining their efforts as they do battle with the evil Decepticons.

The casting of Graham, and the presence of the British Special Forces, would seem to indicate that Bay might do some filming in the UK. Cameras are scheduled to begin rolling on the fast-forming flick in a matter of weeks for a June 26th, 2009 release date.

MTV News has also learned that director Michael Bay was so impressed while meeting with Marsden that he has considerably beefed up the role of Graham from the original script, to accommodate the actor.

And there it is. I was waiting for TFs to work their way into Resident Evil in the 6-Degrees of Separation game. I'm a very happy zombie now.

I'm hoping that Soundwave, the Dinobots & Devestator make their way into this somehow.

Soundwave is supposed to be in the sequel.  I would put money down that the Dinos and the Constructicons will not be in it.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

QuoteIESB has learned some interesting information about the upcoming "Transformers 2" movie, which can be considered spoilers.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

The site reports that we will see old characters in the movie, along with some new ones. The Decepticons will be getting some help in the form of Constructicons. In the cartoons, their names were Scrapper, Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Mixmaster, Hook and Long Haul. And when they all combine, they create the giant Devastator, which you can see in the picture below.

The site adds that its possible that the names might change, since Bonecrusher has already been used in the first film.

At this point, "Transformers 2" has not gone into production. Michael Bay has spent most of the WGA strike writing the script and has since turned it over to the Kurtzman/Orci/Kruger team. The goal is to get the cameras rolling by summer of this year.

I'll take half the money you put down now ;D

If you are basing you reasoning off the IESB article that doesnt say anything about where it got the info from, its a good bet for me.  The filmakers have already said they are going to leak false information to through people off.  If you think you are going to see Devastator in Transformers 2, I think you will be dissapointed.  Without Devastator there is no need for the constructicons.

QuoteMany popular franchises are known for creating cliffhangers at the end of the second installment to bring audiences back for the third film. "Back to the Future" has done it and so has "The Matrix" and "Pirates of the Caribbean." But Michael Bay considers that "lame," and that's why his upcoming "Transformers" sequel will be an entirely self-contained film.

"You know how those sequels they do the second one so you go see the third one? [Transformers 2] is it," Bay told MTV News, indicating that his new film would be its own story. "First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let's just say [this] is not a lame sequel."

Bay also teased a bit about the upcoming film and what we can expect. "The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels."

Michael Bay is saying that...
a) It's lame when a sequel just sets up a third film
b) the first one was just setting up the second one
c) "The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels"  ... I'm not even really sure what to make out of that one...

QuoteDreamWorks has confirmed to ComingSoon that the full title for Michael Bay's "Transformers" sequel will be "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen."

The movie began shooting on June 2nd in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. While details of the movie's plot a closely-guarded secret, expect a key character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle a score.

Some of the potential characters that could make their return to get revenge are Megatron, Starscream, Jazz and Bernie Mac. Maybe not Mac.

"Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26th, 2009.

dude, it's totally going to be Bernie Mac
