QuoteTeresa Palmer was once rumored to be part of the "Justice League of America" film, which is now on hold. She was set to play the role of baddie Talia al Ghul, but since that timeslot in her schedule is now empty, she moved to a different blockbuster, "Transformer 2."

This news comes after Variety announced the casting of Jonah Hill (Superbad) in the movie. Hill is set to play the college roommate of Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky and will provide the film's comic relief.

You can catch Palmer next in the upcoming Adam Sandler film "Bedtime Stories," which hits theaters on December 25th. And "Transformers 2" is scheduled for June 26th, 2009.

Doctor Who?

A comic relief roommate?

Sounds like they are working hard to make this movie even worse then the first one.

I will give it a miss.

Well, I suppose there's the case to make that if the comic relief is handled by the humans, the Transformers won't have to do it.

How to make Transformers 2 not suck:

Fuzzy Necromancer

Hmmm.

I think that the movie will be more exceptable if the contemporary human cast all gets
A. Their brains ripped out and placed in decepticon Robots of Death
B. Turned into transformer-cyborgs
C. Turned into Daleks or Cybermen
D. Eaten alive by a diet-crazed Megan Fox

Of course, I doubt that today's hollywood bigwigs have the courage, the creativity, or the sheer guts to implement the changes I suggest. We can't all be artistic geniuses.

Edit: Except for Shia's male blond friend, who gets all of like 3 lines in the entire movie. He can stay, as long as he never uses the phrase "bros before hoes" ever again.

As long as there are humans, Bay will feel the need to make them intolerable when cast in his films. The best bet is to wipe them out, quickly and cleanly.

It can't be violent and satisfying? I think I might be even more frustrated to see them escape my hate painlessly.

I know I'm sounding like a smartass, but I could go on for hours how much the human characters in Transformers pissed me off. I won't, but I could. And I would never use the same pejorative twice.

Like we didn't see this coming, I mean just look at the ending.  I know it hurts but it's for your own good, like watching a skateboarder getting split like a piece of firewood on a rail.  They basically forced a sequel upon us, not unlike the salt-peter they forced upon Peter Jackson after signing on for the LOR trilogy.

I hope they allow Shia to keep saying "no" in the sequel:

QuoteIGN got the chance to speak to screenwriter Roberto Orci about the upcoming sequel to "Transformers," who said that the film will begin shooting in three weeks.

"We want to follow some of our lead characters which we thought were so successful," he explained. "Shia's character; where is he two years later? His girlfriend, where is she two years later? But for fans, I guess I'll address this more for the fans, because I think if you didn't know Transformers at all and you came in and you liked the first movie, you'll like the second one. However, some of the die hard fans, which we were a member of that group, felt, well, maybe it's a little light. Maybe it wasn't science fictiony enough. And I think the second one will deliver on a true Transformers story. You know, the first one, we had a limited budget for what it was. Every second of Transformer time is a million dollars or whatever the heck it is, so this time, because we were able to prove through the whole thing that it's a viable live-action movie, we have a little more freedom this time to actually learn about the Transformers, see them, hear them. It's a better balance between the humans and the Transformers."

Orci also revealed that Soundwave will appear in the sequel and maybe even Ravage. "You know, we had Ravage in an early draft of the first movie and Soundwave, and we couldn't do it right and I think this time hopefully we'll have the ability to do it."

Oooooh, so Transformers 2:  Now contains Transformers.

Ironically, the more annoying the humans will be in Transformers 2, the more it'll feel like a TF movie. See, I think everyone is forgetting that, with the outright exception of Beast Wars (because it took place when humans were still pre-human) and Beast Machines (because there are no humans on Cybertron), nearly every incarnation of TFs has featured annoying, whiny humans to some extent. I watched the entire Japanese Victory ep collection hoping someone would "accidentally" step on Jan, the human character for that series (and if anyone thinks Daniel is annoying, they haven't witnessed the evil of Jan).

Granted, Bay cranked up the level of the annoying humans element for the first movie to ungodly proportions, but I maintain that that's why it 'felt' like TFs overall. He's merely continuing the 24 year-old tradition. And let's face it. Even if there wasn't even ONE human in the entire movie, there would be at least one really, really annoying Transformer to take his/her place.

Y'know what was missing from Transformers?

comedy, well luckily Transformers 2 has that covered

QuoteMTV News sat down with Rainn Wilson ("The Office"), who revealed that he has a small role in the upcoming "Transformers" sequel, in which he will play some king of a professor. "A professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot," he laughed.

Wilson added that he has yet to read the full script for the movie, which is why he could give so little information. One thing we know though, with the recent attempt at casting Jonah Hill (Superbad) and now Wilson, "Transformers 2" will definitely be more humorous than the original.

Shia LaBeouf is set to return for the sequel, which is currently setting up shop in Bethlehem, PA. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26th, 2009.

Really, do we need more comedy diversions in the sequel? I wished they could just write a competent script with alot of drama in it. Screw comedy. This project makes me angrier than Hulk getting kicked in the balls.
