Older films for a cheaper price

Could you offer an occasional older film at  a cheaper price, as you do with Night of the Living Dead and Plan 9 From Outer Space?  I know that one of the ideas is to use more main stream movies for RiffTrax so everyone can get ahold of a copy, however it might appeal to some of us to have a RiffTrax for those dollar bin sci-fi and horror movies that nearly every mall electronics store and Dollar General seems to carry these days like The Ape or Frozen Alive.  You could even buy up large quantities of these cheapo movies and sell them with the trax at some kind of combo bargain pricing.  Might I also suggest short trax for public domain educational films and so forth.  Sell them for a quarter or 50 cents and point people to the Internet Archive link where they can watch the film it goes with.

It's not really to do with the age of the film. Both the 2 you list there are actually not RiffTrax as such. Those are both simply the commentaries that Mike Nelson did for Legend Films for their DVD releases of the respective films. When RiffTrax started they still had the materials to convert the commentary to a 'RiffTrax' and post it on here. They actually had Reefer Madness up as well, but there was an issue with people finding the exact version as Legend Films had used to sync it up with, so I believe it was taken down.

The price is more dependent on the the length of the film (Nestor is cheaper, Fellowship of the Rings more expensive) as the time it takes to write the rifftrax changes with that length, minutes written per day is fairly fixed. I suspect that since this cost was already covered when mike did the commentaries originally, so they were able to price them differently.

How about just some occasional older films then?  8)

What kind of a pre-riff intro did that one have? Was it funny?

Mike cracks wise about how Reefer Madness was the film that successfully prevented marijuana from becoming a "popular recreational drug." And he also mentions there is a cheat sheet, to which DA replies, "Yes there is."

"Would you like to say something about it?"

"Hmmmmmmmmmm... no."

So Mike explains a little bit about the readme file.

That's pretty much it besides your standard fare.
