There could be another dowload available. There's the regular riff...then the PAL version...then the DVD version.

This one would not have the opening. It would be the same length as the film and ready for synching.

That's possible, but with my Pinnacle Studio 9 software, I can 'cut out' the beginning prep, then line up the mp3 from the "pause" mark of the DVD and adjust as needed to get both in synch for the DVD conversion process.

Our goal is to keep the process as simple as possible.  Speaking from experience, because we offer both versions, people do download the wrong one.  Throwing a third one into the mix will only confuse things further. 

I think that giving people the most complete file is always the best option.  Trimming the MP3 shouldn't be too much additional work for reauthoring.

yeah, when i re-author, i use the intro as a separate title, so i wouldn't like the trimmed version.

There would be no guarantee that the one they chop would sync up with your video file. There could be instances where a different  version of the film has some other studio logo at the front throwing off the actual run time than the one they used. Going by the DVD times in the readme and how far off some of them are in comparison to my actual video files I don't think it would really be feasible in the long run.

The 3D Mike Nelson i'm modeling right now (check the Fan Art section) is for use in trying to animate a video intro to go along with the audio, so people can use it. Still investigating the ease of integrating another piece of video with the DVD.

I have cut off the Rifftrax intros and muxed them together with pictures of Mike and Kevin and Disembodio where the pics are timed to sync with their dialogue.  I haven't tried anything beyond that.  When I mux the rifftrax audio snippet with the pictures I get an .mpg file.  Then when I make the files into a dvd I just add the Rifftrax with the movie and the Rifftrax intro .mpg into Toast and it puts them together on a dvd.  If that makes sense.

I've kept the original intro audio on every DVD that i've reauthored. It's just the first chapter on my disc. Basically i just fade up the Rifftrax logo and the title of the film... anything more would take quite a bit of work, especially on a near weekly basis. Besides, each audio intro is usually less than two minutes, so as long as there's some sort of video on the screen... it doesn't get too boring, and it's better than looking at a black screen.
