Just got Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels from Blockbuster. Guy Ritchie kicks ass.

I gotta say, I thought Lock, Stock was a big steaming pile of horse manure.  I hated it's attitude, the way the roles were performed, its attempts at humour, its "mockney" accents, its eye on the international market, and its "aren't I so flashy?" direction. 

Y'see.  I didn't like it.   

I loved Snatch, but Lock, Stock just doesn't do it for me. Bland. What's up with Guy's new movie that I can't remember the name of? Is it not getting released?

Saw 2.

I'll use this opportunity to get my problem(s) with this film off my chest. I watched the first two back-to-back and thoroughly enjoyed the first one. The second one, on the other hand...
First up, it's absolutely riddled with plot holes. Any film that requires one character to act in a certain very specific way to trigger off an event that will affect another character in another extremely specific way, which will bring about the terribly clever ending, needs to do it in a really cool way to not have all decent film fans calling foul.


This one requires the characters to...well, it requires them not to smash their way through one of the boarded-up windows first. It requires the first guy to go into that oven thing, and not burn the back of his neck. Then it requires beefy dude to not kill the female Jigsaw. Then, someone other than the kid needs to find that photograph behind the mirror. Then, Mark Wahlberg's character needs to flip out on the male Jigsaw. Then he needs to drive him to the other house. Also, the tech guys need to not figure out they're watching a recording, on an old videotape no less. Right at the end, Mark Wahlberg needs to not dodge the woman who injects him in the leg, and then not be conscious enough to shoot her as she gets up out of the bath. He needs to go down into that room as well, and not just ignore it or have a quick look round then leave.

If any one of these things doesn't happen in exactly the right way, Jigsaw's house of cards comes crashing down immediately. Also, how the hell did Jigsaw afford to fit out all these rooms and all these houses with torture equipment? How did he have the strength to seal a house shut with big metal bars? How did an ordinary fella suddenly develop enough hacking skill to break into a computer and find 5 people that Mark Wahlberg had framed, as well as set the remote system of computers up, just on the off chance the police would go and find him there?

And so on and so forth. Shame on the people behind Saw for making such a cruddy sequel.

All good points though, those traps were pretty stupid. People race after the 'key' and then are surprised when *gasp* the key was booby trapped?! Also, they took the weakest character from the first one and turnered her into the villan, who's stupid idea was that?
