India's Film Industry: Bollywood.

We don't really get a lot of exposure to Bollywood films over here in the States, though posters from England might have a bit. I know that they tend to do a lot of musicals, and that American Movie level violence is pretty rare, as are Sci-Fi and Horror films.
Another note, Bollywood is the home ground of Aishwarya Rai, who has been named, (don't know by who,) the most beautiful woman in the world, and who is starring in The Last Legion:

Anyway, the only Bollywood film I remember seeing is part of Koi Mil Gaya, but I couldn't really get through it.

So, are there....
... any Bollywood Movies you've enjoyed?
... any famously great Bollywood movies I've overlooked, old or new?
... any Sci Fi or Horror films you reccomend?
... facts, gossips, anecdotes, or other tidbits to add vis-a-vis Bollywood?

Also, anybody know who declared Rai the most beautiful? I don't know if I'd disagree, but I am curious.

Chaos

As usual, my contribution to any discussion on Bollywood can only be made in the form of a song and dance number (as befits the genre).

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Gonzo: I want to go to Bombay, India, and become a big movie star.
Kermit: You don't got to India to be a movie star! You got to Hollywood!
Gonzo: Sure, if you wanna do it the easy way!
Fozzie: We picked up a weirdo.

Actually, what he is REALLY afraid of is the TV series "Thirty-Something."

Seems a perfectly reasonable fear to me.

Indeed. That Dracula is one sharp monster.

They used to have that in a cinema near me but then they knocked it down. I'll tell you, the lack of Indian culture in my bit of the states is really sad. I also can't find a good affordable Indian restaurant.

I always rather enjoyed Mr India

Oh oh oh and Lagaan

Not sure if it counts strictly as a Bollywood movie, but it's a great film from Indai that everyone should check out.

Never get tired of seeing that.

Still better than "Pearl Harbor" though.
