Hahahahaha!

What the hell was that?

Junkyard

So, you've watched it, and were unimpressed/confused by it? Please, my friend, elaborate.

Sharktopus

I love Neil Gaiman's work, but I'm not exactly jumping up and down to see Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer in anything these days.

BathTub

I have the book, been a long time since I've read it, but I will admit that the trailers did nothing for me.

Tripe

Plus it has Sienna Miller in it. And I'll happily avoid any film she's in, or at least wait till I can get it on a rented DVD.

I agree - I just couldn't get into the 'excited' mode.  Any movie that has so many celebrities must be compensating for a  crappy movie.

Ok, so that it's clear, I did not like Stardust, and here are 20 reasons why:

Spoilerfied by torgosPizza just in case people who haven't seen the movie yet don't want to have plot details mentioned.

You seem to have missed the point.  Stardust is fantasy.  The comparisons to The Princess Bride are apt, since this movie is going to have its own dedicated bunch of fans 10 or 20 years from now.  She's a fallen star for cryin' out loud.   You need to let your "suspension of disbelief" kick in and enjoy the action, comedy, romance for what it is and not try to apply real world rules to it.
Michelle P. was excellent.  It's nice to have her back in movies even if Hairspray isn't my cuppa tea.  It's great that guys like DeNiro and Gervais can shine in small supporting roles.   I'm not that familiar with this Sienna Miller that you have such a bug about. Was she the blonde? If so, she played a pretty little prick-tease. Not a lot of depth there, but there wasn't supposed to be.
This really is an adult fairy tale that deserved a bigger audience during the same weekend that Rush Hour 3 proved to be a really worn-out concept whose better years are long gone.

I don't think "suspension of disbelief" covers most of the things I mentioned.

I am going to have to agree with you there, Mr. McDuck.

PlayMSTie

It was okay. There were some things I liked about it, but then there were some things that were just plain weird -- not in a good way, but in an over-the-top scenery-chewing way.

I just saw this last night. Completely delightful.

Just as a matter of interest would you have liked Godfather II more if DeNiro had worn a frock? ;)

I mean I would have.

I couldn't say for certain at this juncture. Try me.  :)

Really? Why? I saw her in Factory Girl a couple of months back and she was excellent.  I think unfortunately she's become known as someone for her sex life with Jude Law rather than her acting talent.
