I'll check it out sometime. There was also a scene in jaws which was very disturbing... a Dogs collar is found washed up on the beach... very sad but at least we didn't have to see the dog get eaten.

I don't remember the collar... maybe you're thinking of the stick the guy was throwing for the dog washed up on the shore?

As for stingers, I vote for the frog voiced guy going "aw... crap." as the flying car crashes onto his car.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

I vote for Will Smith's supremely graceful parachute landing as the stinger.  :)

Yeah, Christ, he should have broken his legs in that landing.  I wonder if the stuntman did break his legs, or if that was a dummy.

Yeah, in the Air Force, I'm pretty sure, doesn't let people be pilots until they know how to land when parachuting.

Ok, for a stinger, rent the X-Files movie and rip it.  Take the scene where Mulder pisses on the Independence Day poster and use that as your stinger.

Yeah, I always love when one movie or TV show bashes another one made by the same company....    ::)   It's like them saying "Even we think you're idiots for liking this"

It's certainly a cliche (and a cop-out) to make sure the dog doesn't die in a lot of these big hollywood movies.  A movie gets bonus points from me if they actually do kill the dog.  Like in

Don't forget The Deadly Bees.

Oh, and Revenge of the Creature.

Oh, and Revenge of the Creature.

And what do those movies all have in common?

They Suck!

Tom Hanks knows of which he speaks.

And Halloween.

The Deadly Bees is Citizen Freaking Kane compared to Independence Day.

This.  If something else, than I have to say Harvey's panicked "Ohmygod!  OHMYGOD!"
