Sorry i know i am not being very helpful but io can remember the scenes well enough to remember what it was about the editing that blew me away all i can remember is being blown away.

That's okay. It's probably like that old saying, "I can't describe it but I know it when I see it".

Well it was lots of little things like the way they just cut from the scene to scene and just the way everything always seemed movie so that it didn't feel like i was watching a 2 1/2 hour movie.

I love the cutting at the end of the movie the way it just cuts to the credits at the end is great.

I think i will have to watch it at home before i can be more precise.

Sorry.

I have an idea about what you're talking about.  I remember sitting in the theater the first time and near the end getting an idea of the time that had passed, then I looked at my watch and realized that a lot more had passed than I thought.  Some movies are long and seem inflated and slow.  This movie was fast-paced throughout, yet never seemed rushed.  It was long just because there was a hell of a lot to go into it.

Speaking of, why does everyone keep saying this movie was too long?! I mean does anybody ever say Saving Private Ryan was too long, or Schindler's list, or Godfather, or Godfather 2 or 2001? I mean I think that's just nitpicking if you ask me. You can't find anything wrong with it so just pick on the run time.

I thought Andy Warhol's "Sleep" was too long.

Doctor Who?

Yeah i have noticed that whenever a critic can't find anything really wrong with a movie they tend to just saw it was too long.

I have seen reviews where Critics have said The Incredibles was too long!

I think Roger Ebert said it best when he said "Every bad movie is too long, and every good movie is too short."

And Ebert is full of crap.

Part of what makes some movies good is that they are perfectly timed and of an ideal length.

Doctor Who?

I'm pretty sure what he meant was that a good movie leaves you wanting more and a bad movie leaves you wanting less.

Thing is there are movies that are good that I don't want more of while there are entertainingly bad movies that I could stand to see more of.

With many things Ebert says, it sounds good but doesn't really stand up to any real scrutiny.

Doctor Who?

Well there are always exceptions to every rule but I have found that it holds up most of the time.
