Hobbit

Yeah, doing a straight book to movie translation would have made it a bit tedious with nothing but fighting going on.  I imagine they added her in for much the same reason that they decided to constantly switch between Frodo and the rest of the fellowship during LotR.  Movies need a bit of variety in their scenery.

Because he has testicles.  That is all.

*It's a guy thing.  If you don't understand it, you never will.

man what a troll.

why say something like that you closeminded jerk?

i should report you right now!
Stand by for action!

Junkyard

Lord, Googy, get over it.

Anyway, yeah- Sometimes you really do NEED to change things a bit when you transfer across mediums. Written works tend to be more focused than movies, because you have to focus when you read, and avoid focusing when you watch movies. I don't imagine the wife's storyline hurt the story.

Sideswipe

I think they added the wife partly  for any female viewers out there who wanted to see a strong female character.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Junkyard

Kind of like Liv playing Warrior Elf in LotR for a few minutes? (After which she kind of melted back into the backround?)

Sideswipe

pretty much yeah.  I like that they canned the idea of Arwen fighting at Helm's Deep, like they originally planned.

They added that? Wow, I thought it was kind of pointless. I understand the need for something to break up the battle scenes, but it seemed a little petty and uninteresting compared to the rest of the movie's overall tone.

WereSquirrel

Personally, I liked the film too. Having said that, I reckon this Rifftrax will totally rule.

Am I the only one who gets the feeling that the Free Sample will be the "Madness? This is SPARTA!" scene?

Junkyard

What else was PG enough to fit into a general sample?

Monty22001

Ok, got my blu-ray of 300..  Now the wait for the riffs.  So far I'm liking the movie quite a bit, never saw it before.

torgosPizza

I got to hear some of the riff, and it is amazing. I think you guys will enjoy.

We'll get the preview clip up shortly, followed by the track itself :)
