I've never had any problems getting new releases from Netflix on their release day.  As long as I make sure they get returns on Monday morning by sending them back Friday or Saturday.

I'll have 300 tomorrow (Wednesday at the latest),  I would have Hot Fuzz coming too, but I plan on buying that one.

I hate it when they send you movies from an out-of-town DC, but it happens quite a bit.  I have a varied collection of out-of-town return envelopes.  I never use them to return movies, I just double up into a hometown DC envelope instead.

I once got a movie (I think it was the HD-DVD version of V For Vendetta) from Honolulu, HI!  Which wouldn't be so bad except I live in Florida.   :o

every time I get a scratched or broken DVD, the replacement comes from California or Washington... never fails

Actually it doesn't matter what address is on the Netflix return envelope because the Postal Service has program going with Netflix where all the Netflix envelope are pulled off the sorting belt they go down and are thrown to the side.  Then they are all placed in tubs that go to the nearest Netflix facility.  I know cuz I used to do that job sometimes.  The best way to get your Netflix sent back and processed the fastest is to drip them off at a Postal distribution center or drop them in a Blue USPS collection box before 2 pm or so.  The collection box mail gets picked up faster than the mail the carriers pick up, so your envelope will get put in a tray faster and should get opened by Netflix sooner.

Blockbuster envelopes get sent through the cancellation machine and are sometimes damaged or opened by the machine.  Or alot of times the sorting machine will read the wrong side of the envelope and it will get sent back to be re-delivered to your house again.  Then if your carrier notices it, it will take another day or two to get back to Blockbuster.
On timeout

I'll be getting 300 & Hot Fuzz, at 6:30 am tomorrow. Thank you redbox. I thought about getting Pathfinder, but I have heard that it is fiercely stupid, and probably future rifftrax material.

In blockbuster's defense though, don't know if that still happens afterwards, but now you bring the envelope into the store and after the clerk checks it in you get sent the next movie in your que as opposed to waiting for it to reach them

Anyone know if the NTSC version will be the same as the PAL version?

It seems like every time a DVD from the new release section gets riffed lately, they are slightly different.
