I couldn't care less about "cookie tracking."
I track different flavors of cookies myself :P

I just mention it because that's why Paramount once threatened to sue anyone using their copywrited Trek stuff on their personal websites without permission.  Even character names.

They claimed that it was to "control information flow and avoid rumors".

The fact that it meant that anyone who wanted to go online for Trek info would then only have StarTrek.com - where they could check out your online info if you weren't careful.

I should mention that, for those who are interested, Giacchino's score has leaked onto teh intarwebz.

He is doing the score?

Now I am torn.

I had made my mind up that I wasn't going to see this but I love his scores, what will I do ???

Are they giving away the right to burn all the copies if it bombs?

(It won't because there will be enough curious people who turn up the first weekend for them to claim a huge hit...even if not one person in the theaters were entertained)

It'll be popular. It's a summer popcorn movie. It will make money.  Just not from me.

Like a SW prequel.

Do the two of you even see how you've obliterated the line between arch sincerity and self-parody? It's like you've become a combination of

Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Doctor Who?

What is wrong with choosing not to see this movie again?

How does that make us sad or lame?

I have yet to see one thing I like in the trailer so I am not going to be spending my money on it,that is all.

Also it is from two "writers" and a director who I don't like.

That seems like a good enough reason not to see it to me.

Hey, just don't see it.  You don't have to keep giving us updates on whether or not you will see it or won't see it.

If I was making a list of who won't see it, just assume that I have written down in the "Won't See It" category that Dr. Who? (if that is your real name) will not be seeing this movie.
On timeout

Bob

The special preview for it on Lost was terrible.

Young Cpt Kirk on an ice planet running from a furry animal and a CGI dino.

What that had to do with Star Trek is anyones guess.

Is that what it was?  I was listening to the audio only (got a radio with a TV band and I'm using it while can before the digital conversion screws that too) and haven't had a chance to find it on YouTube yet.

Sounded like gay S&M.   ;)
