Just heard on the radio that now Russell Crowe is going to make an appearance in this thing.....    ???

We have our Harry Mudd!

I'm sorry but I'd actually like a Harry Mudd movie. I like charletans and con men and the like.

And how are they going to explain that no one on the Enterprise knew who Mudd was before "Mudd's Women"?

Didn't say this was a good addition to this movie, but judging on how it's going never say never.

Paul Giamanti would make a better Harry Mudd anyway (a younger one, anyway).  Or maybe Jim Broadbent.

Giametti is good, actually I'm just going to assume that each new celebrity mentioned is going to be playing Mudd until it's stated otherwise  :D

Yeah....notice they don't seem too worried about getting any female celebs involved in this (and don't say there aren't female fans of Trek).

Even if it's a woman I'm going to say she'll be playing Mudd.

Mudd's Women!

There have been rumors floating around about Russell Crowe ever since they mentioned they wanted a big name for the villain. There've also been rumors of Tom Cruise playing Captain Pike. Of course, all this is being circulated by very reputable British tabloids... ::)

Well, let's hope that these are just stupid rumors.  Because you know there would be these brain-dead celebrity lickers who would go see the movie just to catch the cameos.....giving the studio the idea that more people were interested in the actual movie that there were.

Something like a big increase in rental demand of a new DVD release when it's actually because of a Rifftrax being out.....

:)

Sharktopus

Yeah, it would be terrible to have such a high-profile, accomplished actor as Russell Crowe lending credibilty to Star Trek after years of made-for-the SciFi channel-level movies.

The way that high-profile, accomplished actors like Liam Neeson, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee lent crediblity to the Star Wars prequels?    ::)

How about they just make a good Star Trek movie for a change and they won't have to resort to guest-stars and other crap?

Sharktopus

I can almost guarantee that this movie won't be Star Wars prequel bad. You'd need a power-mad despot in charge, and they already took the franchise away from Rick Berman.

I get that you expect the movie to suck - which is understandable - but it really sounds like you want it to suck. At least wait 'til some solid information trickles out.

While I really doubt a movie attempting to resurrect Star Trek would have Harry Mudd as it's arch-villain, my vote goes to Paul Giamatti. Ooh, or possibly Nick Frost. :D
