what do you think Mike Nelson saw on TV that was so alarming?

With everything coming out on DVD now-a-days AND being able to download any tv show from the net...it only makes sense to cancel your cable/satellite signal.

I must admit, I have satellite tv and I do not want to get rid of it. But I am a huge hockey fan and its about the only thing I watch on broadcast tv. Everything else I watch is on DVD...

Yeah, the only TV I see these days is live sporting events, really important live news stuff, and sitcom reruns from the 80's... that's it.

Getting back to topic, I think it wasn't so much what Mike saw, it was the time he saw it-- some real raunch in the middle of the day.  I know where he's coming from; ElimiDate is some of the biggest skank TV out there, and in some places it's on right when kids are getting out of school.

Maybe he was watching the Animal channel, which I will never again do so long as I live.  I was flipping through the channels one day and came across this documentary of a beautiful lioness and her three cubs, and (stupidly, in hindsight) stopped to watch.  The cubs were about large housecat size, adorable as all get-out, playing and making those little squeaky growls and just being damned cute.  Next thing I know, the lioness goes off to get food, leaving the cubs alone for a few minutes.  And what happens - a snake comes along and kills all three cubs, one at a time, in graphic detail.  Someone actually filmed this!  And didn't lift a finger to stop it!  And then broadcast it on TV in the middle of the afternoon!  The worst part was when the lioness came back and found all her cubs dead.  Horrible, horrible stuff.  Yeah, we all know nature sucks, for the most part, but I sure as heck don't want to see it.   :(

Yeah, life's a bitch.

Especially in the "survival of the fittest" animal kingdom.

i listened to that interview w/ Mike on that NJ radio show.  in the interview Mike says he doesn't allow tv in his household cos he saw something alarming/uncooth on television one day while he was working out.

He could've just changed the channel and stopped watching Fox News.
