Yeah, it's like the creators of the show read Television Without Pity and decided to nickname their own characters before the TWOPpers could come up with nicknames for them.

The saddest part of my education was when I was in a teaching physician's office talking to him about a patient and his student (4th year med) came in and noticed his Gray's Anatomy and said, "They made a book out of that?"  I almost cried.  She was blond and 100% serious.  I was going to tell her but I just nodded and pretended I didn't get what she said too.
