What is the worst movie seen?

RobtheBarbarian

Hmm. Gotta be any given Uwe Boll film, probably House of the Dead.

There's also another one, which shall remain nameless in case some fool decides to see it for himself. It's about demons that try to get out through a door uncovered by scientists in the desert. A group of soldiers and an angel dressed in bondage gear and fake wings (with a Chicago accent) try to stop them. There's a tentacle scene straight out of anime porn, and the end of the movie is too unspeakable to even try to describe. I've said to much already; I smell brimstone.

Apart from that, every SciFi Channel original movie manages to beat the one that came before it in terms of utter putrescence. So bad they're not even funny.

I've yet to see anything that tops Monster A-Go-Go for sheer ineptitude.  Apart from the student film I made 10 years ago, but no one is EVER going to see the copy I have :)

"Stupid is as stupid does,"... wait... WTF DOES THAT F'ING MEAN ANYWAY?!
Anyways, the worst movie I ever did see was and still is Attack of the clones, tied for first with Phantom Menace.

I think I've seen almost every episode of MST3K, and all the Rifftrax, and I have my own extensive history of bad cinema, so I feel I've seen a lot of really bad movies. However, I think for sheer abysmal badness, for horrible acting, idiotic script, and just overall ill-conceived inept rottenness, I have to pick "Troll 2". According to the intro of the Rifftrax, the director comitted suicide after completing the movie. I don't know what the circumstances were around this unfortunate event, but it is clear his heart was not in it.

Older movies that one sees on MST3K are very bad, but "Troll 2" is a relatively recent film. It  is my belief that bad movies have gotten better. Technology and practice have improved crappy cinema at least in terms of production values. So, I expect more of a late eighties/nineties flick than I would from one made in the fifties. However, "Troll 2" is amazingly bad.  There are no trolls in it, and the acting wouldn't pass muster in a sixth grade Christmas play. It is absurd, humorless, and flawed in so many ways, I wondered if the filmakers had made it out of spite.

So anyway, that's my vote for an all-around perfect storm of cinematic terribleness. You're off the hook, "Plan 9". And you'll skate too, "Red Dawn" and "Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot", but you're on notice.

Congo....

Well mainstream movie anyway.. Seen so many obscure turds It is hard to remember them all.

Junkyard

Easy- Birth of a Nation. Racism aside, the fact that it was a film with a heavy handed political message (something I hate,) aside, it was both boring and lacking in any sort of subtlty. And way too long.

It is hard to go wrong with movies like Troll 2, Feeders, Shark Attack 3, etc.

For big budget movies, I would be hard pressed to find movies worse than Congo or the Anakin Star Wars movies.

Without a doubt, a truly bad movie... but I actually ended up enjoying it. I haven't seen any other Boll films in their entirety, but this one had a corny 70's B-moive vibe that was entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

If I had to pick a couple of "mainstream" movies:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0239948/

These two might get some bias from my end just because I paid money to see both of them in the theater and then watched them again on rental just because I couldn't believe they were as bad as I remembered. My original recollections were spot on... and I hate them for making me doubt myself.

Hobbit

I don't really have a personal worst, but according to Rotten Tomatoes, Ballistic, Ecks vs. Sever is the worst movie of all time.

Junkyard

I would certainly put that one on the list.

I preferred the sequel:

Ecks-Men.
