I learned that Alun Armstrong and Peter Postlethwaite are not the same actor. I'm pretty sure I have mistaken them for each other in different British films.
I learned no Krull riffs despite Armstrong's presence. Boo.
I learned this was clearly originally a serial killer movie that was then changed at the last minute to 'Let's make the serial killer a creature from Alien, but with more dampness'. It even says the subway scene a few others were added later in the credits.
I learned Rutger was psychic in the monologue at the end. It's never explained that he is, or what his abilities are during the course of the movie. Perhaps the ability to hear heartbeats without a stethoscope?
I learned you can leave two people behind you, walk in a straight line, yet somehow they will be killed and their bodies placed ahead of you in your path.
I learned having ritualistic symbols carved deep into your chest is no big deal.
I learned there was so much fetid water in this my computer got mildew and I needed a tetanus shot. Thanks guys.

I learned that this was the movie equivalent of treading water for an hour plus.
I learned someone decided it was a good idea to create a pretty cool looking movie monster, not show it for most of the movie, and then kill it off fairly easily.

I learned that some creatures are tough enough to shrug off small arms gunfire, but apparently weak enough that you can just reach in and rip their hearts out like you were breaking off pieces of cake.
I learned that you can get thrown out a window and be fine.
I learned that after global warming floods everything, it'll just be about 6 inches of standing water everywhere.  No biggie.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

I loved Bill's riffs on that.  My favorites of the whole movie.  "That's the same guy he was just talking to and I won't hear any different!"  It was nice of the movie to put both of them in the same frame at one point.
