Children of the Bride
Feature film · 2022

Long divorced from her philandering husband, Margret Becker is about to remarry. Only problem is, the groom-to-be is barely older than her grown children - making them even more dysfunctional!

The "Bride" that begat them all: Children Of The!

Long divorced from her philandering husband, Margret Becker is about to remarry. Only problem is, the groom-to-be is barely older than her grown children - making them even more dysfunctional. It's another Becker trainwreck as all four kids land on Margret's doorstep for the nuptials with lots of baggage.

The usual dramatis personae of Rue McClanahan, Kristy McNichol, and Anne Bobby are here, along with Patrick Duffy as the OG John, and the trailblazer Jack Coleman, the giant on whose shoulders all the subsequent Dennys would stand.

Great series with plenty of material for riffing. But the plots are easily forgettable
Wasn't the plot of the 2nd one (the first one riffed) all about Rue McClanahan getting married and the kids comung home for the wedding just like this one? Maybe I'm mis-remembering.

No.  The second one was "Baby of the Bride" and it's about her getting pregnant.  One of the daughters gets married in the second one.  Rue's deadbeat first husband comes back, makes a bunch of lavish promises for the wedding, and then completely flakes because he can't pay.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.
