Dancin': It's On!
Feature film · 2021

This is a Teen Dance Movie from the guy who directed Space Mutiny. Turns out choreography was his true passion!

With Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett

For decades, moviegoers have loved to watch people dance. But there was always an unanswered question lurking: was It, in fact, On? But finally, a movie slithered out of "This film was not screened for critics" slop heap and delivered an unambiguous, if confusingly punctuated proclamation: Dancin': It's On!

Let's not bury the lede here: This is a Teen Dance Movie from the guy who directed Space Mutiny. Turns out choreography was his true passion, in the same way that "freezer-space optimization" was Jeffrey Dahmer's. But now that whole hula hoop dance sequence in Space Mutiny makes a lot more sense, right? It does not make it better, sexier, or less mortifying, but it at least makes more sense!

Now, we could just hit you with a lot of "Grind Twerkhard!" jokes here, but we should probably tell you what the movie is about. Seen a Teen Dance Movie before? Well it's like that! But it's the Teen Dance Movie from the dumbest timeline in the teenverse. The cast mainly consists of a bunch of people from "So You Think You Can Dance?" who resoundingly answered that question with a shrug and half-hearted "Kinda?" There's also one of the martial arts guys who didn't do any martial arts in Santa's Summer House. And just in case you were concerned there wasn't a prominent mime, let us assure you: there is a prominent mime!

Pack your bags for Panama City, queue up one of the absolute weirdest songs in the history of RiffTrax soundtracks, and join Mike, Kevin, and Bill for Dancin': It's On!

This was a great Xmas present - not a Xmas movie - but I haven't laughed this hard at a riff by the guys in a long time. Riff aided greatly by the terrible acting, plot, and all the silly dancin'.

Fodder's just this guy, you know.

PontifexPrimus

I can heartily recommend this movie to everyone who thought that "The Care Bears go to the Big Dancing Contest" was a little too crude, harsh, and had too many unexpected twists and turns.

Seriously, it is _that_ cliché, and it goes out of its way to be harmless and kid-friendly. And the dance scenes get as spicy as particularly bland wallpaper paste. Great riffing fodder, though!

Pastor of Muppets

Well the movie was awful, but I do have to admit that the dancing was excellent.

The entire story was just an Excuse Plot.  You know you need a plot, but you're not talented enough to write one, so you just kind of take a stock plot and modify.  It's like Squarespace for movies.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.
