What Club Med things did we Club Med learn?

I learned that the "Med" was short for "Mediterranean".
I learned a man like young Jim Carrey can be relentlessly obnoxious and painfully unfunny, but be oblivious to why he has no luck with women.
I learned that in 1983, Jim Carrey starred in an hour long Club Med commercial.
I learned that you can make a movie that is set on a ski resort but has virtually no skiing.
I learned that at a Club Med ski resort, people will treat a low stakes ski race between two amateurs like it were the Winter Olympics.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

So this was Jim Carrey prior to his appearances in In Living Color?

1983, so yes. This was way before anyone knew who he was.

I learned that "country-fing" CCR songs a bit equals turning them into boring dirges.

Women who are totally repulsed by your obnoxious behavior will suddenly be attracted to you if you ski badly.

Club Med vacations involve ski tournaments and bad music.

Music? I don't recall any music in this movie.  Which is too bad, because it could have used some.  It must have been subtle.  I don't usually pick up on small nuances like that.

The RLM guys have a concept called "filming the rodeo", wherein a crappy filmmaker pads his movie to feature-length by filming something that just happened to be going on wherever he was filming the movie. (They coined it when some director added 10 minutes of 'free' rodeo footage to fluff up some terrible "Best of the Worst" film.)

Anyway, I learned that it was possible to make a 'film' that is at least 75% "the rodeo". I'm totally convinced that the ski racing and the endless band footage was something that happened at Copper Mountain, and wasn't staged in order to be in the movie.

In this case, the director took "the rodeo" and wrapped 10-15 minutes of our protagonists being Unlikeable Assholes around it so that there'd be a plot of sorts.

It was great, in a "wow...that just happened" sort of way.

The Howling: New Moon Rising legit uses 4 full length country songs being sung in a bar to pad the film. That is in addition to introducing a character from 'The Howling IV' for the sole purpose of using 15 minutes of footage from that film to pad this one. Add to that they used the actual people from a desert town in the middle of nowhere to star as themselves to just talk to one another to also pad the film.

Legit probably the worst film I've ever seen because it only spends 5 minutes trying to be an actual film.

I need to make a cut of this film that is all the singing parts removed, just to see what I get.
