The makers of this "film" undoubtedly had good intentions. They obviously knew that in the distant future there would exist a team of crackerjack commentators who could turn it into comedy platinum.

It starts out as a kind of Bizarro version of Leave it to Beaver, a blissful family of four at breakfast, only the children are girls: https://youtu.be/6J3HOaU9E5U?t=90 Bonus callback to The Bermuda Triangle, the little girl's stuffed horse named Michael gets talked to much like the doll from that movie. https://youtu.be/6J3HOaU9E5U?t=102 (Michael subsequently gets contaminated with fallout and makes her sick.)

Later we see mom starting the laundry and telling another woman how "we women have to keep up with the world," https://youtu.be/6J3HOaU9E5U?t=193 She then goes to do something with the washer when New York City disappears in a flash of light at the same time power goes out: https://youtu.be/6J3HOaU9E5U?t=210 Can you guess which one 1950s mom notices first?

What follows is 47 minutes of terrible over-acting which sees:

The family being asked to take in four refugees; two panicky women, a kid and an able-bodied old man. https://youtu.be/6J3HOaU9E5U?t=1107 Woman 1 is an older alcoholic convinced she's dying of radiation poisoning. The kid is Woman 2's daughter, who gets to see mommy go catatonic as she's convinced her husband is dead.

     He thinks he's being hunted down by the government for being a peace-loving atom bomb scientist
