I learned I have no idea of why the space '2001' monolith thing happened with those two landing on Gumbia, Earth. They act like it's a normal thing and they've always been there.
I learned that in a children's film, you ought to include bank foreclosures on farms and a knock off of Farm Aid with one clay band.
I learned Gumby was terrified of being cut into multiple pieces, despite it not doing any actual harm. Seriously, the Terminator was less durable than him.
I learned books and VHS tapes have pocket universes only accessible by sapient clay. And they vary drastically in size. Some are entire worlds. Some are the size of a small room.
I learned a guy sitting in a chair on a rock in space angled so you can't see him but know he's there did not originate in the MCU. Yes, Marvel ripped off the Gumby Movie, damnit!
I learned Excaliber can destroy normal swords like they were made of clay, but light sabers can destroy Excaliber like it was made of clay.
I learned there were a dozen plots in this. Bank foreclosures. Record deals. Pokey feeling left out. Stealing pearl crying dogs. Highly useful groupies. Supporting characters more powerful than anyone else. Robot duplicate replacements. The list is endless.
I learned that if the guys dropped a 'I'm Gumby, damnit!' I missed it. Has it so totally passed from everyone's memory over the decades?

BathTub

I learnt that the whole point of the movie was for Gumby to fundraise to give more loans to the farmers!

I learned from this wiki that Lowbelly crying pearls is not caused by Gumby's band playing live music. He cries when Gumby changes shape (which Gumby does while playing).

I learned from imdb that this movie cost almost 3 million to make but only made $57,100 at the box office. That amount of failure is pretty impressive.

Darth Geek

I learned that the animators put WAY more work into this movie than the writers did. Despite the writers also being animators.

Pastor of Muppets

I learned that Gumby might be from the moon but he also has parents and friends on Earth.

I learned that the ability to walk through walls only works sometimes for some unexplained reason.

I learned that children love usury jokes.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

I learned that this movie has multiple plot lines. One is actually about a boy and his dog. Not that it matters.
I learned that I agree about asking who the heck this was for.
I learned that true ending of the movie was just as confusing as the very beginning of this movie.
The end credits look like what they used to sell the movie.

Fodder's just this guy, you know.
