RVR II

I figured since there's only 3 of us that contribute to the NFL thread, might as well just continue on with this one instead of creating a whole nuther thread for 2022 and beyond :-\

Yesterday from [ Adam Schefter ]
Deshaun Watson has decided he wants to play for the Cleveland Browns in a stunning change of events, per sources. Watson has informed the Houston Texans that he now is willing to waive the no-trade clause in his contract to be dealt to Cleveland. It is now up to the Texans and Browns to finalize a trade agreement for Watson.
Deshaun Watson gets a fully guaranteed 5 year $230M contract. That is $80M more than the previous record for fully guaranteed money at signing (Josh Allen $150M).
Baker Mayfield will now be traded.
Browns and Texans still are finalizing official trade compensation for Deshaun Watson, but it is expected to include three first-round picks, a third-round pick and potentially a fifth-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.
Five picks for Watson...
SERIOUSLY ???

Green Bay
Aaron Rodgers signed a long term deal to stay with Packers. Won't hit cap that bad in year 1, but will have long term consequences. Packer ticket prices which are already some of the highest going up $4 to $7 each. WR Devonte Adams traded to Raiders.

RVR II

Rodgers did a pretty good job yanking the strings of the higher-ups to get that deal though I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of his 'tantrums' :-X

RVR II

The NFL network replayed the Patriots @ Bills playoffs game at 4pm and it was a fun 2.5 hours of patriots desemation with 7 straight Bills touchdowns  :D :D :D :D :D :D  :D

ihavemyreasons

Green Bay trying to be a future NFL draft location. Better chance of that then ever getting a Suoer Bowl I guess, but not many high fallutin 4 star places for bigwigs to stay. Visiting teams all stay about 30 miles south and that hotel isn't what it was 20 years ago - 3 stars at best.

ihavemyreasons

Tried to watch a couple of pre-season games and just can't get interested in exhibition games. Enjoyed the Nebraska-Northwestern college game played in Ireland last weekend and looking forward to college football on Saturday. Not sure what to expect from the 2 NFL teams I follow - lots of roster changes - but glad the season is starting soon.

ihavemyreasons

Chiefs and Packers both play at same time Sunday afternoon so will be 2 TVing it. At least neither are playing at night.

RVR II

First game of the season; my Bills @ Rams Thursday Night Football!
I'm gonna be a tired mofo at work Friday :o

ihavemyreasons

Ugghhh...just looked at schedule and Chiefs week 2 game is a Thursday nighter. Every year I hope that they'll change the start times for the night games to earlier and it never happens .

RVR II

My Bills @ Rams to kickoff the 2022 season

RVR II

Well the Bills brought the Stampede out in the 2nd Half :o
Bills Demolished the Rams 31-10 with 7 Stafford sacks WOW!!

ihavemyreasons

Boooo! Missed 1st quarter of Chiefs game due to Bengals-Steelers OT. Now not showing 4th quarter due to game being a blowout.
Yea Chiefs are on the top end of the blowout.
But Booo! Packers game now getting my full attention and it's not been a good game for the Packers.

ihavemyreasons

So Thursday night games from here on out are only being shown on Amazon Prime. The dearh of the NFL will come if they sign similar deals with multiple streaming services. Getting all games on one service might get me to sub to that service, but no way am I subbing to multiple services just to watch all games in a season.

ihavemyreasons

For all my complaining, I am a Amazon Prime member so watching. May not make it to end. Weird cliched terrible idiots on preshow, but Al Michels announcing. Seems like it's been awhile since I've heard him.

ihavemyreasons

Made it to the end. Ugly win by Chiefs, but a win.
