Just because you have top billing means nothing about the amount of time you have in the movie.
Case in point. This movie was released in 1995. Cameron Mitchell died in 1994. John Carradine died in 1988.
The mid 90's really shows itself off in clothing. Sometimes I forget that when I watch things even though I remember the time fondly.
This movie is less a horror movie than both three films
- A short film about things you should avoid when you parent
- A short file guide to babysitting and things you should avoid
- A short film about the dangers of trying to run your own haunted house for charity after picking up a stranger.
The music in the movie was almost done by cliche. Just insert someone else's music here and slightly alter it.
Oddly this is a good pairing with Blood Theater. Which I forgot I owned. Both are equally as good in quality and just match each other in time period.
Do you remember how poorly the parents were portrayed on "You Can't Do That on Television?". Well this is those parents.
Fodder's just this guy, you know.

I learned what a 'by the numbers' slasher movie is like when you forget some of the numbers.
I learned you can shoot an entire movie on a single street over one weekend.
I learned John Carradine and Cameron Mitchell are still neck and neck in the number of rifftrax-mst3ks they've been in. Some day one will pull ahead of the other.
I learned this was a better horror movie than the evil grandpas one and stitches. My god they've been doing some terrible horror films.
As the above reminded me, I will say this movie has one thing above Blood Theater: BT made the nudity boring, somehow. The unedited version of this with Linnea Quigley's shower scene kept nudity interesting. And she was by far the best actress or actor ,still alive, in this film. And she's not noted for her acting. (see: Return of the Living Dead 80's remake graveyard dance scene)
I learned it's weird using a caveat 'still living' to refer to members of the cast.
I learned it felt like everyone was trying in this. Except the dead people in the stock footage. I will never get used to that caveat.
I learned women your young child randomly meet and bring to the house will hang out with you on multiple occasions at all times of the night and day. Yes, she was 'working on a book' but she hung out even when she wasn't.
I learned I'm pretty sure the electric toaster suicide was probably someone had the prop and they felt compelled to use it, despite it not relating to a scythe wielding pumpkin head demon.
