RiffTrax Live: Starship Troopers is coming September 29th via the magic of a new watch party technology called Scener. Mike, Kevin and Bill will riff Starship Troopers live and ONLINE! We're taking the script of one of our most beloved live shows and polishing it up for 2020. All you need is the Scener browser extension installed on Google Chrome, a Netflix account, and a ticket to the show.

Note that if you don't/can't have Netflix, it's apparently possible to get the audio for the show through your mobile device and sync it up to any copy of Starship Troopers you might have access to. There will be a timecode that will tell you where your copy of Starship Troopers should be.

Was anyone here able to watch? I didn't get to.

Was it all new jokes or a re-do of their original riff?

As best as I remember it was roughly the same script. They said they tried to drop the more dated references, but joked that they still found room for the Teapot Dome scandal. The important thing was that the "Ahh, my wedding vows." Riff was still intact.

For those that gave up they got the stream working around 9:15 Eastern, so the show went until after 11.

There was obvious new material when there was nudity on screen, also noticed a few other new riffs, I think all the jokes that really landed well in the original were still there.
