Fuzzy Necromancer

Okay, I have questions.

How were the fairies "trapped underground" by Finn McCool when they were very clearly flying around above ground? How did digging out some of the mine rocks change anything in any way?

Why did the policeman just try to guilt trip the angry mob into helping instead of getting down their and trying to help the trapped child himself?

Why was cousin Ian hired as a caretaker of the house if it was assumed it would just be left indefinitely with no relatives or tenants coming to live there?

Why did the brother keep forgetting fairies were real?

Why did the fairies look goblin-like before they were freed?

Why was Fin McCool described as a wicked giant when he was more of a culture hero in folkloric source material? I mean he was kind of a dick sometimes but he wasn't in any way affiliated with the Fomorians.

How did the kids know about the relative limits of healing power and that the fairy king was one of the fairies still nebulously stuck underground instead of one of the ones zipping around above ground?

Why weren't all the fairies stuck underground by Fin McCool's revenge?

Why does everyone act like the fairy king is pure as the driven snow when he entered into a bad faith contract with Fin McCool by engaging his services with zero intention of paying him the promised reward, and then top it off by gloating?

Just what the blueberry-flipping mother-loving fundip is going on with this gremplork?!
