I thought I'd document the movies or shorts that they've re-riffed, either as re-dos of MST3K episodes or live re-dos of studio Rifftrax. I did not include re-dos of Mike-only riffs. I'm not 100% certain of the old/new riff content of the live shows, so feel free to correct me on that if I'm wrong (or if I missed any riffs).

Re-dos of studio riffs for live shows
- Plan 9 from Outer Space (mostly same riffs)
- House on Haunted Hill (mostly same riffs)
- Birdemic (mostly same riffs) - also, VOD (combination of studio and live version riffs)
- Night of the Living Dead (mostly same riffs)
- The Room (mix of old/new riffs)
- Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (some different scenes; all-new riffs)
- Carnival of Souls (all-new riffs)
- Samurai Cop (mostly same riffs)

Re-dos of MST3K/Film Crew episodes (for studio riffs or live shows)
- Manos: The Hands of Fate
- Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
- Santa Claus
- Time Chasers
- Space Mutiny
- The Magic Sword
- Angels Revenge (MJ&B)
- Hangar 18 (MJE&IP)
- Final Justice
- Gammera the Invincible (some difference scenes)
- A Case of Spring Fever
- What About Juvenile Delinquency?
- Killers From Space
- The Giant Spider Invasion
- The Million Eyes of Su-Muru
- Mr B. Natural
- Hobgoblins
- Appreciating Our Parents
- Keeping Clean and Neat
- Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders
- Escape 2000 (Escape From the Bronx)
- The Brain That Wouldn't Die (MJ&B)
- Robot Monster

Missile to the Moon?
I was on the fence about counting that one. It was just a studio rifftrax replacing another studio rifftrax with identical riffs but different riffers. I'm still not sure why they did that. If they needed to remove Fred Willard (by request or otherwise), why is that riff still available?

My guess is moving from the MP3 only release to a physical release might have required a new contract with Willard. But it can remain as an MP3 due to the existing contract.

The Willard version is only available as VOD as well now, so that kind of undercuts that argument.

It still might count as a redo, since the original Willard release and the 3 Riffer Edition are word for word script reads?

I was thinking that a physical release might require a different release than a digital one, including a VOD. A MP3 release and VOD are technically the same medium. DVD/blu Ray is a different one.

My guess is that the three-man re-riffs outsell the older single/double riffs and since they already had a script...

Hanger 18 was on MST3K? I don't remember that.

For the MST3K reriffs, I almost always prefer the original version. Except for Manos. Both versions of Manos are equally awesome.

HANGER 18 was a KTMA episode.

I actually like the Manos re-do a little better. I thought the Time Chasers one was as good as the original. I really liked the Carnival of Souls live show, but I can't remember how it compares with the studio version. On the other end of the spectrum, I thought the Space Mutiny re-do was lousy, perhaps partially because the original was so good.

I managed a rare theater trip to see Space Mutiny because it was maybe my favorite MST3K episode.

My ex wife took me, it was her first time sitting through a full RiffTrax, and she actually enjoyed it a lot.

When we left I told her that while the RiffTrax version was good, the original was better. But then I realized if you took the best jokes from the MST3K version, and the best jokes from the RiffTrax live, it would easily be the funniest movie riff ever.

I actually considered taking both videos, and using a video editor to do just that. And if it could be enjoyed by more people than just myself I might have done it. But I'm guessing there is no way to get the ok from everyone involved to do it legitimately. If there was a way to somehow only share it with those who already own both riffs maybe, dunno.
