Rifftrax that are no longer available

Just pointing out that yesterday Shout Factory announced they had purchased Roger Corman's entire catalog, including Wizards of the Lost Kingdom.  It's possible that Rifftrax might get thrown a bone and be able to put it back in print.  That is, unless Shout doesn't want this version to compete with their MST version, but the two companies seem to be on solid terms and it's really the best shot we've got to get it back.

Perhaps 'It Conquered The World' from MST3K Season 3 will be released as a single DVD from Shout! Factory?

Susan Hart owns ICTW, this deal is unlikely to have any affect on its availability.

That is odd. Looks like the original link just goes to the 2016 re-riff. Maybe it was too confusing to have both? Maybe they just considered the latest version to be superior? Maybe they wanted to sweep the controversy with the Disembaudio Sex Scene skits under the rug?

Controversy? I loved those skits. It was a unique way to riff sex scenes that otherwise would get repetitive.

The original link was https://www.rifftrax.com/room , which no longer works. Weird that they would get rid of it. I think it was clearly superior to the 2016 version.

I'm disappointed to hear this too. I like the original riff better. The jokes in the live version tended too much toward the "look how stupid this movie is" variety.

Controversy? I loved those skits. It was a unique way to riff sex scenes that otherwise would get repetitive.

There were those who found the skits to be somewhat LGBT-Unfriendly. I don't remember the details exactly, but I recall there being a kerfluffle on one of the social networks about it.

If you bought it, you should have access to it. If we do have to do something drastic like that you will be notified before hand and, likely, compensated in some way...as it hasn't happened yet and I'm not in charge of such things I can't say for sure but I can say that this hasn't happened yet.

I don't understand why they would no longer sell the original version.  Are they trying to save on server space?  No skin off my back since I have both.
