Are you still able to play music with DRM?  I thought that once Microsoft shut down their servers last year the DRM licenses would expire and those tracks would not be playable.

But if you are using it as a simple mp3 player it should keep working until the battery, hardware dies.

My first one's battery died a few years back. But my replacement Zune is still working fine. I was listening to it about an hour ago, actually.


And Marty, the only bits of DRM Music I have were purchased about 4-5 computers ago. I have no idea if the tracks don't work because of the DRM  permissions are trapped on an old computer or if because of the servers.
