Because, Robert Z'Dar.

I'd go with "One and half chins up" for purposes of the poll, Two.

We're presented with a movie about a San Diego cop brought into Los Angeles to help take out some local samurai-based gangs who, apparently, want to unite their crime organizations to control the city.  Or, cop, is a samurai with a fabulous mane of hair (or a wig) who seems bit more interesting in samurai'ing the ladies than he is taking in criminals for due process.   It's a very, very flawed movie in all of the usual ways when it comes to armature projects of this era.  Poor acting, poor action beats, poor ADR, poor stunt-work for the fights using obviously sped-up footage and dinged up swords. and some pretty lame attempts at sexual banter/encounters.

This is one I've been wanting for a while and maybe my anticipation and excitement for it so of made my expectations too high, but somehow this lacked some "sparks" in it.   I'm also slightly disappointed in it editing the movie a bit (only some of the more gratuitous sex/nude scenes) though I can also understand why it was done.  Though the sex scene with Robert Z'Dar I'd think would have lent itself to some good jokes.

So, it maybe didn't quite live up to my expectations and I've watched it a couple of times.  To it's defense, I've not been in the greatest of moods for a while so maybe it's more me.

That's not to say it isn't funny, it very much is and they do make good use of the material the movie offers.  It's not one that will let you down.

This is a movie that's needed to be done for quite some time and it's about time it faced the music.

The best part of the movie, really, is Robert Z'Dar who the guys are actually pretty merciful with.

"I have no opinion on this... Oh wait, I do!"

It's moments like this that made this movie and riff so great. It's like the whole movie is nothing but a series of non-sequiters. Between this and Wizards of the Lost Kingdom, they're having a great 2016 so far.

It says something about a movie when Robert Z'Dar is the best actor in it.

2 Chins up!

I wasn't sure if the Robert Z'Dar sex scene was cut out or if I had a stroke and my brain erased it.

what was the story with the wig? I didn't understand how from shot to shot it would appear and disappear. I thought maybe when it was a stunt double but it was always him. It's not like he didn't already have long hair...??

Likely from a long shooting schedule with a lot of delays and he didn't maintain his long hair, that or reshoots a significant time after production wrapped.   What's odd to me is they didn't even bother to find a man's wig with longer hair or even a woman's wig with "flatter" hair or do something to the wing in order to make the hair better match his; when he's wearing the wig he's got the hair of a fabulous brunette with lots of body-adding shampoo used.   When it's him the hair is flatter and much less radiant.

Pretty much sums up my feelings except I've only watched it once.
