I've not yet had time to watch this, been a busy weekend.  None the less, I like starting the "Learning" threads so here it is, what did you learn from the Wonder Women (re: Not Charlie's Angels)?

Miku Fan

I learned that the cheesiness of a Ross Hagen film is directly proportional to its budget.
ミクさんは世界で一番お姫さま!

Darth Geek

I learned that it is still not possible to have a car chase in a sillier vehicle than the Enforcers in Space Mutiny. But damnit if this movie didn't try!

I learned that the Philippines have absolutely NO film animal safety laws!

Darth Geek

So this movie is a combination of the exploitation of Angels Revenge, the plot of The Atomic Brain, the color palette of Diabolik, and the animal treatment of Catching Trouble.

Darth Geek

I did NOT learn what the hell was the deal with the little kid. He just up and disappeared from the movie after ASSASSINATING A GUY! You'd think that would be kinda important, but apparently the movie disagrees.

ManUnderMask

I learned there's a sequel called Warrior Women. You know you want it.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

In Indonesia, ALL of the people are out standing in the street, all of the time

Oh, they have to tackle that later this year! (Like they did the Carradine Future Force/Zone movies a couple months apart.)

Watched this last night. I learned:

The fight choreography in "The Guy From Harlem" was much more competent and nuanced than that in this one.

There were quite the pool of harsh-faced looking women/models available to be in this movie.

(It's a bit crude of me, but I'm sorry. I'm sure all of the actresses who were in this movie were lovely ladies just trying to earn a paycheck (only to be disappointed when their payment for this movie was a 70s equivalent of a gift card for Red Lobster) but some of the women in this movie just seemed to have very strong-looking, angular, faces.  Maybe it was lighting, make-up, or something, but just something I noticed. I consider myself a feminist, but I'm still a man and with little else to go on (like personality and such) I notice these things when looking at women.  I'm a piece of crap, I know.)

Our hero seemed more-or-less okay with the experiments and stuff going on at Dr. Evil's private island or whatever the hell this was.  He just wanted to collect his charge.

You can have a movie featuring a number of good-looking women, a doctor performing brain-transplants and not ONCE have her consider putting a man's brain in a woman's body. Of all her animal experiments in the dungeon and not one of them was a new "woman" sitting in the corner exploring "his" new body?

You can have a movie start of with a lot of gratuitous nudity to let everyone rub one out and get it out of the system and then just titillate them for the rest of the feature with scantily clad women.

It's possible to make sexy "cat-fighting" unsexy.

It's possible to make a foot and car-chase through crowded streets ridiculous and overlong.

When chasing someone, go out of your way to knock someone of a staircase.

Cock-fighting, dare I say, actually looks kind of fun?  (What?! I don't give a crap about chickens! I say let the loser be immediately plucked, battered, and fried and then served to the winner's owner!)

The filmmakers of Manilla really hate chickens! (I mean cock-fighting is one thing, but running into them with cars out of the blue is another. At least in cock-fighting they have a fighting chance.)

At least one innocent pedestrian died while making this movie.

CJones

Maybe it's because I've been drinking, but that movie made the least sense since Frankenstein Island. The guys seemed like they really enjoyed riffing this, which always makes it funnier.

Also Manilla taxi drivers are crazy loyal.

Rainbow Dash

I learned in the 70's they just put guys in drag rather than use female stunt doubles.

Heh. I want to "Like" that post.

I learned what "jai alai" is other than thinking it was "some-sort-of goofy-looking lacrosse.

TriffRax

I learned there were no likable men during the 70s.

Darth Geek

I learned that someone, somewhere, has at one time, actually given a shit about Jai Alai.

Trekker4747

Jai Alai- So boring even Canadians won't play it!

CJones

It's crazy dangerous. Jai Alai balls are like rocks. They cost upwards of $100, but will often fall apart after only 20 minutes of play.  Getting slammed into a granite wall at 150 mph over and over has that effect.
