... and the rather interesting  bit about Godzilla Resurgence:

QuoteMy overwhelming impression of these two guys as a team comes from the wonderful exhibition that was held in Japan a couple years ago to celebrate Japanese style special effects. They curated an exhibit of suits, props, design artwork, etc. that showed off the craftsmanship of Japanese special effects artists and the technique of miniature special effects. And to top it off, they made a short film titled Warrior God Appears Over Tokyo to celebrate miniature effects and show how thoroughly relevant they can be even today. The film contains 100% practical effects aside from the animated rays, and it looks astounding, as good or better than anything done with CG and budgets that are orders of magnitude higher. So with that in mind, I was excited to hear they were assigned to Godzilla-surely they would take their work on the short film to the feature level and show the world that traditional Japanese effects can make a feature that holds it own against the big Hollywood effects houses. As a result, it's a bit disheartening to hear that their new Godzilla is just the opposite, being done almost exclusively with CG and with very little model work. This was the last thing I expected. Of course I remain hopeful that it will be well made and entertaining, but I never expected that these leading proponents of traditional techniques would abandon them so shortly after their triumph at the SFX Exhibition. Perhaps it is the dictate of the studio, but for whatever the reason, it feels like this may signal the end of the techniques that brought so many of us to embrace Japanese films. And that is kind of sad to me.

That sucks, I was hoping this would be a man-in-suit type Godzilla movie. Is the model work just that expensive now that it's cheaper or the same to do all that building destruction CGI?

Although the last time he had red markings like that, he died at the end and it was really sad.

Well, that sucks.  Hopefully, they'll include the original version.   ;D

Henry88

So...this is could legitimately be a spoiler for some people, so click at your own peril...it concerns Godzilla's potential origin and maybe a little more than that

There's several pics floating around Facebook and Twitter at this point, but this one is pretty good -

And this one shows Godzilla's fifth toe...we kinda saw that in one of the first posters. Foot Wars 2016? It doesn't bug me a bit, really.
