I give this one an A. I think it's the best riff since Super Mario Bros, not including Sharknado. We've had a really good year so far, and this will end up being one of the standouts of 2014.

Bob

That one was literally perfect.

Oh yeah. It's like the culmination of all lessons learned from Sisters of Death and Terror at Tenkiller and applied to one of the most repulsive movies of all time.

What's the rating on this one? It's a teen slasher film, and I'm not a fan of gratuitous sex/nudity in my Rifftrax (The Room nearly broke me, plus I just didn't really find it all that funny...)

CJones

Lots of innuendo, but no actual sex or nudity. Unless you count that shower scene with the most opaque sliding glass doors ever.

But gratuitous violence is perfectly fine. I'm American!  ;)

I gave this an A. Would have topped even Zindy if it didn't slow down during the beginning of the third act (wait, there were acts in this?). It's a great one. They seem to have finally mastered riffing this genre or at least picking movies in this genre that riff well. The VOD's have been great this year.

Oh, do shut up. I'm so tired of that comparison. The two things aren't equivalent.

I don't think he was saying they are  :P

No, Tommy, you shut up! (hits slumber party friend over the head with pillow)

I apologize. I'm having a bad day and I posted while I was annoyed. Still, can someone just tell me if this one is full of illicit teen nookie so I know whether I want it?

I wish. I was being serious before. It's not. There's talk of sex, but no actual sex or nudity.

Even the violence is pretty lame. I hate slasher movies, so I was reluctant to pick this one up. But this was just so unbelievably poorly done, there's no way you can take the violence at all seriously.

Appreciate it. I just prefer my Rifftrax movies kinda old-school... which, actually, is kinda how I like my movies in general.

The Last Slumber Party

My Grade: B-  ("B" on the poll)

In this movie a trio of teenage girls decide to have a slumber party after the last day of school, meanwhile the father of the girl hosting the party has been treating a psychotic patient in need of a lobotomy in a nearby psychiatric hospital.  The patient has escaped and seems intent on getting a level of revenge on the father by sort of being a bad serial killer.

The killer occasionally invades the party as the girls do things while the mother is presumably asleep in her room and the father is presumably at work in the hospital and not a lick of all of this makes sense.

The movie is shot on VHS tape and honestly looks like a it was someone's A/V Class project that the got an F on.  The actors in the movie are terrible, the editing is terrible, the music is terrible, the "filmography" is terrible, the dialogue is terrible and there's not even much in terms of eye-candy, violence, or sexuality as would be expected in a movie of this nature.  Hell, the movie doesn't even have a single poorly-lit scene as it seems all of the lights in the house are on 24/7.

There's a group of boys entering and exiting the house causing problems for the girls, the mother occasionally arouses from her Valium-induced coma to tell the teenage girls on the first night of summer vacation to go to bed, a nurse attempts to proposition her self to a passed-out vagrant on a bus-stop bench and the father character shuffles around from scene to scene not giving a single damn.  The "leader" of the trio of girls curses so much she'd make a sailor who spent 35 years doing hard-time in Joliet blush and seems intent to question the sexuality of every man she runs into.  She also *really* wants one of her friends to bang one of the guys more than she wants to do her own guy.

As a movie there's not a single thing about this movie worth watching.  I'm really, really curious what the history of this movie is as far as why it was made, its release and performance in whatever format it was released on. (I highly doubt it was a theatrical release and likely either straight-to-video or more likely straight to Cinemax at 3:00AM, pretty much the bottom of the movie-release barrel for the time the movie was released.

The delight of the movie is the father mostly because the actor playing him doesn't give a single damn about what is going on.  He reads his lines like he just took three Xanax and chased them down with a fifth of vodka and shuffles around the sets like a man sleepwalking.  His level of give-a-damn is registered in negative numbers and it is an utter DELIGHT to watch.

Not a single thing in this movie makes sense.  It could almost be taking place at the same time as the MST3K classic "Hobgoblins" which, honestly, would have both movies make a whole lot more sense.

The guys do a great job of riffing on the movie and attacking all of it's problems and faults, particularly on the lead female character, the don't-give-a-damn dad and all of the inexplicableness of everything that happens in the movie.  They don't rely too much on the usual tropes they do anymore, there's a Nick Nolte joke during a Thorazine conversation in the mental hospital and they don't go for the low-hanging fruit of a Crocodile Dundee riff during a knife scene. (Which, really, they should have, but I guess it was too obvious and too easy.)

They pick on the movie's production values, sound issues and just the odd decisions, or in-decisions, made by the characters.  It's a solid riff on one terrible movie.

I thought this one was an instant classic, and I will start putting multiple telephones in my bathroom over the weekend.
