Wow Steve O you totally blew my post away, talk about taking the ball and running with it "And he could go all the way!"

Oh, I wouldn't recommend taking any piece of your Wii and running with it.  Some of the Wii's parts are connected with delicate cords, and those things can only stretch so far.  You do not want to know the hearbreak of a snapped Wii cord, my friend.

And while it's true that your Wii will still work even when some distance from the television, any player who can use his Wii from two rooms away has a far stronger unit than I.
