Good thing, Bad thing

I really like the "Stinger" and "What have we learned?" threads for each movie. Borrowing from another good ol' MST3K tradition, I wanted to revive the "good thing, bad thing" deal that they used to do. Here's mine:

Good thing: The female Terminator was hot
Bad thing: They showed Aaaaanold's 60-year old butt

Do I get a RAM chip?

Good thing: Humans eventually win the war against the machines
Bad thing: Most of us get nuked in the wars first day

   Good thing: The car chase sequence with the crane was awesome.
   Bad thing: After years in the business, Arnold's acting skills aren't.

Good thing: Lots and lots of explosions!
Bad Thing: Arny's Run as Governor might end up the same way. :^)

Good thing: The chase scene was a well directed and edited action scene; a real rarity in post-Matrix Hollywood.
Bad thing: Everything once they reach the military base throws that out and becomes an incoherent mess.

Bad Thing: Arnold is in the movie.

I can't for the life of me think of a good thing and a bad thing about this movie, but I can think of TWO bad things:
Bad Thing: The writers weren't smart enough to think of sending a terminator further in the past to kill sarah conner's parents
Bad thing: Inevitably someone else would have led the resistance anyways if John Connor died so WHAT THE HELL IS THE F'ING POINT OF THE TERMINATOR MOVIES?!

Can't you tell from the movie?  Clearly John Conner is the greatest tactical and strategic genius the world has ever known.  Why without him the resistance wouldn't be able to tie their shoes, let alone beat the machines!

You should read some of the comics; they sent Terminators all over the stinkin' place.

good thing: well, the whole movie, actually. i sorta like T3, i mean it wasn't nearly the classics the first two were but it's a cool action flick. stuff blows up good.

bad thing: i'm not really a big jonathan mostow fan. believe it or not i actually met the dude once, me and a friend did an interview for him for U-571. he had all these stock comments, which i didn't even realize until later when i read another interview he did where he said the exact same stuff.

i'm digging the commentary, listening to the TX chick talking about her workout routine. she's effin' SCARY in that flick, it's fun to hear her talk like a regular human being. and yes, she's also unbelievably gorgeous. that doesn't hurt.
