We're back with a new Kickstarter campaign
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rifftrax/rifftrax-wants-to-riff-godzilla-live-in-theaters-n

Thanks to you, we had a hugely successful Kickstarter last year that funded us to be able to riff STARSHIP TROOPERS live in 700 theaters across North America. The show was a success, and this year we have the opportunity to perform a live riff of one of our most requested movies ever – GODZILLA! Yes, the 1998 version with Matthew Broderick!

But in order to do it, we need your help again. The cost to secure the theatrical rights and for production is super expensive, but totally worth it IF we can make it happen.

So, Kickstarter community, please help us do our MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000-style funny commentary for GODZILLA, broadcast LIVE to hundreds of movie screens to a massive audience in a one-night event on August 14th, 2014!

This is not a 'maybe' situation - we KNOW that we can get the movie if the Kickstarter is successful.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

Looks like they're gonna reach 1/2 of their goal in 1 Day! That's astonishing! :speechless:

More like two hours. Compared to the Twilight Kickstarter, they're slipping. ;)

By tomorrow morning, they'll have the 100k.

Went for the signed poster package this time. I'll likely never see the guys at an event, so this should be the next best thing.

Me too! My donation is 10x what it was last time. I've met Kevin, which was awesome, but I still want this poster. Anytime they reblog any of my graphics I consider it a win for the day, but they can't really sign those. ;)

Contributed quite a bit more than I did last time as well, just to get a singed poster.  I hope to meet the guys at a con down the road somewhere but until then I'll take this.

It's good and re-assuring the title is a guarantee, I wasn't one of the ones disappointed last year I thought Starship Troopers was a good selection, but Godzilla 1998 should prove to be worthy fodder.

And half way to the goal inside one evening, not bad. Should make this one inside the week I'd think.  Best of luck, guys!

Yeah, they reblogged an Ice Cream Bunny I did around Christmastime last year and it was a thrill.

That is looking Very Possible :o

They achieved their goal on the Twilight riff within a few hours, IIRC.  And, yeah, looks like this one will basically do the same.  Be interesting to see how high this goes.

Without crazy stretch goals to drive it, I doubt it will do multiples of the base goal.

People said that last time and they did...
FINE

Yeah, I know they'll hit their goal, but the amount of goodies for my $40 is just too much to pass up, personally.
