I'm a fan, but I'd see this just for Cranston's passion alone, I'm expecting this to be either good entertainment or a good really serious unintentional cheese-fest. (In a good way)

If it's as good as the 90s Power Rangers movie with Ivan Ooze, I'll be pleased.

Could be, but at least to me it looks like they may be including some camp/over-the-topness, what with Rita Repulsa played by Elizabeth Banks. Just looks like a cheesy 90s villain, in a good way (not that it looks anything like Rita Repulsa). Zordon etc. It being entirely grimly serious/quirk free like the recent Fantastic Four movie would be the worst. I'll have to see more to know.

Cranston signing on gives me a lot of hope, misguided as it may be. Ideally that means the script had some potential in it. And he's not just a guy like in Godzilla, he's Zordon, gotta be the most out-there role he's played.

Just out of curiosity, looked up the writers of this script, their credits include Flight, Real Steel, Thor and X-Men First Class. And... Gods of Egypt and The Last Witch Hunter. Hopefully those two out of the five listed on wiki have the least in there. Still, could be a fun/good script.

That lowered the bar quite a bit for me, looks like very modern teen melodrama schlock. And not in a good way, but hey maybe there will be some cooler stuff in there somewhere.
