If the nfl had seen the video and it had been released to all months ago, why was it JUST seen now?  That does not make sense.

Terry Pegula emerges as clear front-runner to buy Bills

The Buffalo Bills could soon have new ownership.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula has emerged as the clear front-runner to purchase the Bills, according to a source involved in the process.

Monday was the deadline for binding bids, so the agreement could come as soon as Tuesday. The sale is expected to come together "very quickly," and it would be "stunning" if Pegula didn't extend the winning bid, the source told Rapoport.

The league finance committee meeting is next week and a new Bills owner could be in place by the NFL's fall meeting on October 7-8, if all goes well.

The 63-year-old billionaire found success as a natural gas and real estate mogul. He has repeatedly stated his intent to keep the team in Western New York, which makes sense since he would own both of Buffalo's major professional sports franchises.

Founding Bills owner Ralph Wilson died at age 95 in March, leaving operations to team president Russ Brandon.

Report: Rice video was sent to NFL

Report: Rice Video Sent To NFL Exec In April

    Is Roger Goodell In Trouble?

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive five months ago, while league executives have insisted they didn't see the violent images until this week.

The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."

The law enforcement official, speaking to the AP on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, says he had no further communication with any NFL employee and can't confirm anyone watched the video. The person said he was unauthorized to release the video but shared it unsolicited, because he wanted the NFL to have it before deciding on Rice's punishment.

    "

We are not aware of anyone in our office who possessed or saw the video before it was made public on Monday. We will look into it.
    "- League statement

The NFL has repeatedly said it asked for but could not obtain the video of Rice hitting Janay Palmer -- who is now his wife -- at an Atlantic City casino in February.

The league says it has no record of the video, and no one in the league office had seen it until it was released by TMZ Monday. When asked about the voicemail Wednesday, NFL officials repeated their assertion that no league official had seen the video before Monday.

"We have no knowledge of this," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Wednesday. "We are not aware of anyone in our office who possessed or saw the video before it was made public on Monday. We will look into it."

The person said he sent a DVD copy of the security camera video to an NFL office and included his contact information. He asked the AP not to release the name of the NFL executive, for fear that the information would identify the law enforcement official as the source.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell initially suspended Rice for two games following the February incident, but the Ravens released Rice on Monday and the NFL suspended him indefinitely after the website TMZ released the video.

Goodell told CBS on Tuesday that "no one in the NFL, to my knowledge" had seen a new video of what happened on the elevator until it was posted online.

"We assumed that there was a video. We asked for video. But we were never granted that opportunity," Goodell said.

In a memo to the NFL's 32 teams on Wednesday, Goodell said that the league asked law enforcement for the video, but not the casino. "In the context of a criminal investigation, information obtained outside of law enforcement that has not been tested by prosecutors or by the court system is not necessarily a reliable basis for imposing league discipline," he wrote.

The video, shown to the AP on Monday, is slightly longer than the TMZ version, and includes some audio.

Rice and Janay Palmer -- now Janay Rice -- can be heard shouting obscenities at each other, and she appears to spit at Rice right before he throws a brutal punch. "Outside The Lines" reported Wednesday that Rice actually spat at Janay Palmer twice - including once in the elevator just before the punch. After she collapses, he drags her out of the elevator and is met by some hotel staff. One of them can be heard saying, "She's drunk, right?" And then, "No cops."

Rice had been charged with felony aggravated assault in the case, but in May he was accepted into a pretrial intervention program that allowed him to avoid jail time and could lead to the charge being purged from his record. A prominent New Jersey lawmaker called Tuesday for that decision to be reviewed.

Hours after portions of the video were made public by TMZ, Goodell suspended Rice indefinitely and Baltimore terminated his contract. He had originally been suspended for two games, and team officials had praised him for his apologies and actions after his arrest for aggravated assault.

Goodell and team officials said they were taking more severe action because of the violence in the video.

Well now, it sounds like the league is trying to cover something up.....again

Is the comish some sort of God? Would getting him fired mean a bunch of changes?

Also, do you guys think the sentence of releasement from the ravens and a lifetime ban is acceptable? Because it seems like Mrs Ray Rice thinks that is too much.

He's the 'NFL God' in a manner of speaking.

Releasing from the Ravens: Yes.
Lifetime ban: Undecided.. Michael Vick got a second chance for his dog fighting atrocities, and it seems that Mrs Rice has forgiven him so that may play a role in his possible NFL future :-\

Adrian Peterson -- Indicted for Child Abuse ... 11-Year-Old Boy

[Update] 30 minutes ago BY TMZ STAFF
Exclusive Details

Minnesota Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson has reportedly been indicted for child abuse in North Montgomery County, TX.

Peterson missed Vikings team practice yesterday -- though the team explained it as a "veteran's day." Peterson did attend practice today and was said to be laughing and joking on the field.

Child Protective Services confirms they are working on a case involving Peterson and an 11-year-old boy.

Earlier today, Peterson posted a message on Twitter -- though it's unclear if it's related to the case.

"People understand that if you are on God's course and suppose to have that position and man decides to remove you know that God will remove everyone to place you rightfully! You matter!"

"Its your season! Weapons may form but won't prosper! God has you covered don't stress or worry!"

QuoteAdrian Peterson's indictment for swatting son with a switch
September 12, 2014, 5:06 PM EDT

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's indictment on reckless or negligent injury to a child stems from a case of old-school corporal punishment.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the incident in question stems from "disciplining of a son with a switch."

For those of you unfamiliar with the Southern vernacular, a switch is a flexible tree branch used to swat a child across the backsides.

How you view that — as an act of parental discipline or as child abuse — depends largely on your age and geographic location.
Really ::)
