It might have been posted but I'm too lazy to check, I think this film is prime material for Rifftrax, If they can hook up subtitles with their copy I would go see it.

I'm really curious how the copyright laws would treat something like this being relased.  Could Lucasfilm/Disney sue someone for distributing this?  I imagine they could.

The film itself I think is public domain, but that doesn't include the STAR WARS footage. So Rifftrax would either have to edited out every bit of STAR WARS footage, or just not release a VOD.

How did that work out for MST3K using Space Mutiny, though, with the blatantly stollen Battlestar Gallactica footage?

Last I heard SPACE MUTINY director David Winters bought stock footage from Universal. I dont know if that's true, but Universal has done that with some of their films. Footage from DUEL was used in "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" TV series, and that really ticked off DUEL director Steven Spielberg.

I seriusly doubt STAR WARS was ever cut up for stock footage. TURKISH STAR WARS probably lifted it illegally.
